    APPLETON, June 13-G. Oscar
    Gow died suddenly at the family
    home, Hess road, late yesterday afternoon.
    He had worked at the Harrison
    plant at Lockport, where he is employed,
    until 4 o'clock yesterday
    afternoon and died shortly after
    reaching home.
    Mr. Gow was born March 3, 1879.
    at North Hartland, where he resided
    for several . On May 3. 1905,
    he married Miss Ethel Wyman, In
    his earlier years he was a farmer
    and later worked as a carpenter. He
    had been at the Harrison plant for
    nine years. He was a member of
    New fane Lodge 947, F and AM.
    Besides his wife, he is survived by
    five children. John. Applcton, Mrs.
    Prudence Confer, Niagara Falls, Miss
    Janet Gow, Applcton. Mrs. Sarah
    Arnold and Hiram Gow, both of
    Somerset. 11 grandchildren and one
    brother, Reid. Gow, North Hartland.
    Services will be held at the family
    home Friday at 2:30 p.m. with the
    Rev. Daniel Heinz, pastor of Hess
    Road Wesleyan church, officiating.
    Interment will be in Hartland Central
    cemetery.

    NEWFANE - Mrs. S. Ethel
    Gow, 88, of 1940 Hess Road,
    Town of Appleton, died Monday
    (Sept. 7, 1970) at Niagara Falls
    Memorial Hospital after a long
    illness.
    Born May 7, 1882 in the Town
    of Appleton, she was the
    daughter of Hiram and
    Prudence (Pierce) Wyman.
    She was a member of the
    Wesleyan Methodist Churcn,
    Appleton, for many years and
    was also a member of the
    missionary society of t h at
    church.
    Her husband, Oscar Gow, a
    lifelong resident of Appleton,
    died in 1951.
    Survivors include two sons,
    John D. of Newfane and Hiram
    W. of Lockport; three
    daughters, Mrs. Malcolm
    (Prudence) Confer of Lewiston,
    Miss Janet Gow of here and
    Mrs. Paul (Sarah) Arnold of
    Barker, 11 grandchildren, 12
    great-grandchildren and several
    nieces and nephews,
    Friends may call from 7 to
    9 p.m. today and Wednesday
    from 2 to 4 an3 7 to 9 p.m.
    at the Rutland-Corwin Funeral
    Home Inc., here, where funeral
    services will ,be held Thursday
    at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Bernard
    M. Roof, officiating.
    Burial will be in Hartland
    Central Cemetery.
    Contributions to the Wesleyan
    Methodist Church will be ac
    ceptable as tribute the family
    said.

    Niagara Gazette - 12/19/1923

    Hiram Wyman. 85 years old, a farmer
    of Appleton. died at his residence last
    evening. Besides his wife he is survived
    by one son and two daughters.
    The funeral will be held Wednesday
    afternoon at 2 o'.elock from the family
    residence and burial will be in the West
    Somerset cemetery.

    APPLETON-Funeral s e r v i c es
    for Mrs. Prudence Wyman, widow
    of the late Hiram Wyman who died
    Saturday, were held at the home
    of a daughter, Mrs. Oscar Gow,
    and Mr. Gow, Hess road, with the
    Rev. Charles Sicard, pastor of the
    Wesleyan Methodist church officiating.
    Burial was In the family plot
    in the West Somerset cemetery.
    Mrs. Wymnn was born In Swanton,
    Franklin county, Vermont on August
    27, 1842. She was brought to this
    section by her parents. Mr. and Mrs.
    Chester Pierce, when an infant and
    made her home with them on the
    Hess road until her marriage to
    Hiram Wyman on May 11, 1872.
    After their marriage the couple
    lived on a farm In North Hartland
    for 40 years and later made their
    home on the corner of the Hess road
    and Swlgert road.
    Mrs. Wyman had been confined
    to her bed most of the time since
    she suffered a fractured right arm
    last September. She was a member
    of the Wesleyan Methodist church.
    The pallbearers were all grandsons,
    Clifford Wyman, Walter Wyman,
    Clarence Strong. M11 f o r d
    Strong, John Gow and Hiram Gow.
