    CHICAGO — Anne R. (LaCivita) Cheff, 94, a life-long resident of Niagara Falls, NY until moving to the Chicago suburban area in 2007, passed away Friday, June 17, 2011. Anne worked as a buyer for over 20 years at the former Beir’s Department Store in Niagara Falls, NY. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Sabbath F. Cheff, in 1983.

    Anne was the fond mother of Dr. Ronald (Arlene) Cheff of Hinsdale, IL; grandmother of Carrie (Jonathan) Kowalski, Joseph M. (Alexis) Cheff and Alissa (Michael) Hennen; great-grandmother of Julia, Abby and Kate Kowalski, Aidan Cheff and Avery Hennen. She is also survived by one sister and three brothers: Edith (late James) Serrio, Ernest LaCivita, Louis (Gladys) LaCivita, all of Niagara Falls, NY, and Al (Bee) LaCivita of Lewiston, NY; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Celia (late Peter J. Sr.) Barto.

    Visitation will be Saturday, June 25th from 9:30–11:15 AM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where prayers will be held at 11:15 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 27th St. and Independence Ave., Niagara Falls, NY, with Rev. Duane Klizek officiating. Entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.

    26th St., died Tuesday (April
    25, 1972) at Memorial Medical
    Center after a brief illness..
    A native of Sulmona,
    Abruzzi, Italy, he came to
    Niagara Falls in 1910. He
    worked at the Airco Speer
    Carbon Corp. as a laborer for
    15 years, retiring in 1954.
    Formerly he worked at
    DuPont Co. for 20 years as a
    sodium operator.
    He was the husband of the
    late Eleanora LaCivita.
    Survivors include three sons,
    Louis C. and Ernest P.
    LaCivita of Niagara Falls, and
    Albert F. LaCivita of Potomac,
    Md.; three daughters, Mrs.
    James J. (Edith) Serrio, Mrs.
    Peter (Celia) Barto and Mrs.
    F. S. (Anne) Cheff, all of
    Niagara Falls, 10 grandchildren
    and one greatgranddaughter.
    Funeral services will be at
    the M. J. Colucci Funeral
    Chapel, 468 19th St., Friday at
    8:45 a.m. and at St. Jospeh's
    Church at 9:30 a.m.
    Burial will be in St. Jospeh's
    Cemetery.
    Friends may call at the
    funeral home today and
    Thursday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9
    p.m.
    The rosary will be recited
    Thursday at 8 p.m. at the
    funeral home.

    Frank married ODDI, Eleanora on 19 May 1912 in Buffalo, Erie County, NY. Eleanora died on 10 May 1969. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    wedding anniversary Saturday
    evening with a reception
    for relatives and
    friends at the Crown and
    Anchor Restaurant.
    They were married May
    19, 1912 at Buffalo, and
    have lived in this city for
    the last 40 years. Mr. La-
    Civita is a retired employee
    of Pittsburgh Metallurgical
    Co.
    The couple has three,
    daughters, Mrs. James Serrio.
    Mrs. Peter Barto and
    Mrs. Sam Cheff. all of this
    city; three sons. Louis and
    Ernest LaCivita. this city,
    and Albert LaCivita. San -
    Francisco, Calif., and 10
    grandchildren.
    Mr. and Mrs. LaCivita
    and their family attended
    mass at Mt. Carmel Church
    prior to a dinner at the
    Crown and Anchor.
