    CHICAGO — Anne R. (LaCivita) Cheff, 94, a life-long resident of Niagara Falls, NY until moving to the Chicago suburban area in 2007, passed away Friday, June 17, 2011. Anne worked as a buyer for over 20 years at the former Beir’s Department Store in Niagara Falls, NY. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Sabbath F. Cheff, in 1983.

    Anne was the fond mother of Dr. Ronald (Arlene) Cheff of Hinsdale, IL; grandmother of Carrie (Jonathan) Kowalski, Joseph M. (Alexis) Cheff and Alissa (Michael) Hennen; great-grandmother of Julia, Abby and Kate Kowalski, Aidan Cheff and Avery Hennen. She is also survived by one sister and three brothers: Edith (late James) Serrio, Ernest LaCivita, Louis (Gladys) LaCivita, all of Niagara Falls, NY, and Al (Bee) LaCivita of Lewiston, NY; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Celia (late Peter J. Sr.) Barto.

    Visitation will be Saturday, June 25th from 9:30–11:15 AM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where prayers will be held at 11:15 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 27th St. and Independence Ave., Niagara Falls, NY, with Rev. Duane Klizek officiating. Entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.

    Alice Violet Becken, 78, a native of Niagara Falls, died Monday (Sept. 13, 1993) in her home on Creekside Drive.
    The former Alice Violet Strasburg was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and its Evangelism Committee and the Grace Ladies. Her husband, Arnold, died in 1984. Survivors include five daughters, Anita Foreman of Jackson, N.J., Suzanne Wheeler of Pittsford, Arlene Cheff of Hinsdale, ILl., Sharon Weiling of Copenhagen, Denmark, and Gretchen Waggoner of Lewiston; a son, Arnold Jr. of Wesley Chapel, Fla.; two brothers, Allen R. Strasburg of Lewiston and James W. Strasburg of Youngstown; and seven grandchildren. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Grace Lutheran Church, Cayuga Drive and Pershing Avenue.

    avenue, was solemnized on Saturday,
    December 6, at 4 p. m., in Trinlny
    Evangelical church. The Rev. M.
    C. Kretzmann, pastor of the church,
    officiated.
    Miss Ruth Strasburg, sister of the
    bride, was her only attendant. Edwin
    Becken, brother of the groom, was
    best man.
    Mr. and Mrs. Becken are residing
    at 1520 Whitney avenue.
