    NIAGARA FALLS — Phyllis A. (Young) Quarcini-Bechtel, 77 of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2012, at her home, while under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late William and Lillian (Hall) Young.

    Phyllis was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls. She attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. For 35 years she was employed at the former Bell Aerospace as a blue print supervisor, until her retirement in 1991. In her leisure time, Phyllis enjoyed flower gardening and ceramics.

    Phyllis was predeceased by her husband, Donald Bechtel. She is survived by her children, Vincent Quarcini and John Quarcini, both of Niagara Falls, NY; step-daughter, Dawn Scott of Phoenix, AZ; and was predeceased by one son, Anthony (Donna of FL) Malfitano and step- daughter, Tammy Bechtel. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Michael Malfitano of Florida, Scott Aston, Paul (Melissa) Quarcini, both of California; Nico and Nina Quarcini, both of Niagara Falls, NY; Joseph (Andrea) Malfitano of Chicago, IL; Jennifer, Tabitha and Jessica Scott, all of Phoenix, AZ; three great-grandchildren, Vincent Joseph Quarcini, Bryce and Gianna Malfitano; one brother, William Young of Newfane, NY; two sisters, Betty (late Paul) Metzler, Patricia Walker, both of Olcott, NY; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by three sisters, Ruth Gerard, Mary (late Joseph) D'Anna, Jesse (late Nick) D'Agostino and three brothers, Robert (Jacquie of Sanborn, NY) Young, James Young and Johnny Young; and her former husband, Joseph Quarcini.

    Phyllis's family wishes to especially thank her sister, Patricia Walker and niece, Doreen Cafarella for all of their love and support during this difficult time.

    Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3-7 PM at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where services will follow at 7 PM, with Rev. Ronald Maines officiating. Interment will be held on Thursday, December 13th, at 10:00 AM in Oakwood Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. If desired, memorial donations may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094; or Niagara County SPCA, 2100 Lockport Rd., Niagara Falls, NY 14304.

    evening (Aug 4, 1964) in Memorial
    Hospital where he had
    been taken after suffering a
    heart attack earlier in the day,
    He -was b o r n in Vaughn,
    Ont., and was a farmer in Wilson
    until 1934, when he moved
    to Niagara Falls. During
    World War II he was employed
    at Carborundum as a
    kiln operator. He later worked
    for the Niagara F r o n t i er
    Transit Co. as a maintenance
    man. He retired in 1957.
    Mr. YoUng is survived by
    five daughters, Mrs. Joseph
    D'Anna, Mrs. Paul Metzler,
    Mrs. Joseph Quarcind, Mrs.
    Nicholas D'Agostino, all of
    this city; and Mrs..Frank De-
    Line, Regina, Sask.; three
    sons, William M., Robert F.
    and James H. Young, of this
    city; two brothers, Andrew J.
    and Lloyd Young, this city;
    four sisters, Mrs. Ella DeHay,
    Mrs. Myrtle Nelson, both of
    Ransomville; Mrs. Beatrice
    Yarwood, Niagara Falls, Ont.,
    and Mrs. Jessie Bale, Washington,
    D.C.
    Twelve grandchildren also
    survive.
    "Funeral service will be held
    Saturday at the Gridley Funeral
    Home at 10:30 a.m. Rev.
    Edward H. Breitback, assistant
    pastor of Lewiston Presbyterian
    Church, will officiate,
    Burial will be in Oakwood
    Cemetery. Friends may call
    from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. today
    and Friday.

    EAST WILSON. June 1-Mr. and
    Mrs James T. Young celebrated
    their golden wedding anniversary
    at their home in the Daniels road
    Monday afternon and evening. The
    rooms were attractively decorated
    with yellow rosebuds and gladioli.
    A delicious 7 o clock dinner was
    sened by six of the granddaughters
    from prettily arranged tables in
    gold and white centered with a large
    wedding cake The color scheme was
    also carried out in the chairs for
    the couple. About 60 attended the
    dinner and reception among them
    several who attended the wedding
    50 years ago.
    Out-of-town guests were present
    from Toronto, Woodbridge and
    Agincourt Ont.; Washington, D.C.,
    Niagara Falls, Lewiston and Wil-
    son. Many neighbors and friends
    were also present. The couple was
    presented with many gifts of flow-
    ers and gold.
