    Death shortly after 7 p. m.
    yesterday claimed Dr. Carl K.
    SanJule, 51, one of North Tonawanda's
    most public spirited residents,
    a leader among veteran organizations
    in the Tonawandas,
    Niagara county and New Vork
    state, and a member of numerous
    fraternal organizations.
    Dr. SanJule's death was sudden
    and came as a shock to his family
    and many friends. He was stricken
    with a heart attack at his home,
    270 Wheatfield street, yesterday
    morning. Removed to the DeGraff
    Memorial hospital, he failed to
    rally.
    A lifelong resident of North
    Tonawanda, the son of the late
    Fred and Catherine Kinsley SanJule;
    Dr. SanJule was a veteran
    of World War I. As such he became
    active in the organization
    of Niagara River Post, No. 3218,
    VFW, and Dr, Martin F. Nolan
    Chapter, No. 50, DAV, of, which
    he was a charter member. He was
    also a member of Tonawandas
    Post, No. 264, American Legion.
    Dr. SanJule's leadership in the
    Disabled American Veterans in
    New York state led to his election
    as commander of the state organization.
    He was also a past commander
    of the local and Niagara
    county chapters.
    When the North Tonawanda Selective
    Service Board was created
    Dr. SanJule was appointed a member,
    and he was still serving on the
    board at the time of his death.
    Graduated from the University
    of Buffalo on June 8, 1920, he
    had practiced dentistry in the Tonawandas
    the past 20 years. He was
    a member of the American Dental
    society and fee Eighth District
    Dental society. He was also presi
    dent of the Twin City Dental society.
    The fraternal organizations with
    which he was affiliated were
    North Tonawanda Lodge, No. 860,

    B.P.O.E.; Tonawandas Aerie, No.
    1411, F.O.E., and North Tonawanda
    Council, Knights of Columbus,
    in which he held a fourth degree.
    He was also a member of the
    Gratwick Hose company, the As-
    cension church, and the Holy
    Name society of the church.
    Surviving are his wife, Lillian,

    nee Smith, and a son, William
    SanJule, an oft-decorated local
    hero of World War II.

    NORTH TONAWANDA - Mrs. Anna E. Acksel, 60. of 77 Rumbold Ave., died Friday (Jan. 1, 1965) at DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a long illness. She was born in Niagara Falls and had lived in this city for the last 40 years She was a member of St. Peter's American Lutheran Church. Survivors include husband. Arnold H. Acksel, a daughter, Mrs. Steven Yuhasz, and a sister, Mrs. Esther Zastrow, all of this city, and two brothers, Paul and William Schultz, Glendale, Calif. Friends may call at the Wattengel Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 10 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. Rev. Daniel Olson will officiate. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Park

    NORTH TONAWAND A - Mrs
    Augusta Acksel, 80, died yesterday
    at her home, 303 Bryant street. She
    was born in Germany and has re-
    sided in this city the last 60 years.
    She was a member of St. Peter's
    Lutheran church. Surviving are
    two daughters, Mrs. Elmer Westphal,
    of Buffalo, and Miss Ida Acksel, of
    this city; one son, Arnold Acksel, of
    this city and seven grandchildren.
    The funeral will be held Monday
    at 2 p.m. at the home. The Rev.
    Robert Hein will officiate. Inter-
    ment will be in St. Peter's cemetery.

    Mrs. Anna Schultz
    The funeral of Mrs. Anna Schultz, fifty-two years old, who died at her home at Bergholtz. Monday, will be held at the late residence at 1 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Services will be held at the Lutheran church in Bergholtz an hour later. Rev. Stark officiating. Mrs. Schultz was the sister of Mrs. Leonard Weideman, Mrs. Charles Smith, Philip, Fred, Julius and Albert Gombert of North Tonawanda. She is survived by three sons and two daughters, all of Bergholtz.
