of North Tonawanda
Wednesday (Nov. 5,1975)
in DeGraff Memorial
Hospital. Born on Grand
Island, he had been a
r e s i d e n t of North
Tonawanda the greater
part of his life and was
the husband of Pauline
(nee Zaggel) Carroll, who
died in 1973 and father of
Robert R. Carroll, who
died in 1966.
Mr. Carroll who was
well known to many for
his athletic capabilities in
various sports, throughout;,
the Tonawandas and was
a member of the old
F r o n t i e r (Gratwick)
Football Team in his
youth. He was a past
president and business
agent of the Carpenters
and Joiners Union, Local
369, a member of the
Buffalo District Council
a n d t h e N o r th
T o n a w a n d a Labor
Relations Board during
World War II. He was
also a member of the
Eldredge Club and the
Last Man's Club.
He is survived by two
daughters, Miss Dorothy
H. Carroll of North
Tonawanda and Mrs.
John (Jeanett) Drenocky
of t h e Town of
T o n a w a n d a ; three
grandchildren and one
great-granddaughter,
Kristen Drenocky of
Cabot, Pa.
Friends may call from
7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2
2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday
at John O. Roth Funeral
Home, Morgan and
William Sts., Tonawanda
where services will be
conducted at 10 a.m.
Saturday by the Rev.
Frank E. Wright. Burial

illness.
A native of North Tonawanda,
she was a member of North
Presbyterian Church Mrs.
Carroll was the daughter of the
late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Zaggel
and mother of Robert R. Carroll
who died in 1966.
She is survived by her
husband, Roy F. Carroll; two
daughters. Miss Dorothy H.
Carroll of North Tonawanda
and Mrs, John (Jeanette)
Drenocky of Tonawanda; two
sisters. Mrs. Walter Ferguson
of Cambridge, N.Y.. and Mrs.
J.W. Smith of Warren. Pa., and
three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be
conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday.
March 11, 1973 at North Presbyterian
Church, North Tonawanda,
by the Rev. Frank E.
Wright. Friends are cordially
invited. No prior visitation.

NORTH TONAWANDA Jan. 4. —
Henry Zaggel, 63 years old. died Tuesday
morning at his home, 84 Falconer
Street, after a month's Illness. H.e was
formerly associated with the Enter-
prlso Lumber Compainy and was a mem-
ber of the Workmen's Sick and Death
Benefit Fund. He is survlved by a wife,
three sons. Carl, Roy and George Zagel
all of North Tonawanda; four
daughters, Mrs. Roy Carroll of North
Tonawanda, Mrs. Walter Ferguson of
La Salla and the Misses Endres and
Lucille Zaggel of North Tonawanda;
three brothers, William Zaggel of Geneva,
lnd., and George and Fred Zag-
gel of North Tonawanda; a sister. Mrs.
Orvllle Carney of Tonawanda and five
grandchildren.

Henry married DEUTSCHMANN, Helena Mary in 1893 in New York. Helena (daughter of DEUTSCHMANN and Katharina) was born in May 1875 in Prussia; died on 16 May 1930 in North Tonawanda, Niagara County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Mrs. Helena Mary Zaggel, 55
years old, 56 Falconer street, died
this morning at the DeGraff Memorial
hospital after a short illness.
She was born in Germany and had
resided in North Tonawanda for
the past 42 years. She was a
member of Victory Nest, No. 1917.

Royal Neighbors; Empress Rebekah
lodge. No. 116; Companion Foresters
of America. Swift Water
Council. Order of pocohontas
and the North Presbyterian
church Surviving are four
daughters. Mrs. Roy Carroll and
Miss Edres Zaggel. North Tonawanda.
Mrs. Walter Ferguson, Niagara
Falls. N. Y.. and Mrs. Jay
Smith. Warren. Pa ; three sons,
Karl. LeRoy and George Zaggel.

The funeral will be held Sunday
afternoon at 2.30 o'clock at the
residence. Rev. E. H. Woods and
Rev. Jeanette Marcley will conduct
the services and burial will
be at Sweenev cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Zaggel of Falconer
street celebrated their twenty-
fifth wedding anniversary last even-
ing. The house was decorated with the
natonal colors. Prizes at cards were
won by Mrs- William Klensel, Miss
Laura Groom, Mr. William Bartel and'
Mr. Leroy Zaggel. Refreshments
.and Victrola music concluded the evening's
enjoyment- Mrs. Zaggel was
remembered with many gifts.

The funeral of- Charles Zaggel
through whose death .Monday evening
North Tonawanda loses one of its oldest
citizens, will be held from the late
home on Sweeney street-at 2 o'clock
tomorrow afternoon. Rev. Wlttlinger
of the German Lutheran Church will
preside.

Mrs. Charlotte Zaggle, 89 years old, died yesterday afternoon at her home on the Zaggle farm on Tonawanda creek road after a brief illness. The deceased was a resident of this city for 62 years. Surviving are five sons, William, of Geneva, Ind., Fred, Henry,John, and George Zaggle of the Tonawandas, and two daughters, Mrs. Ernest Deutschmann and Mrs. Orval (sic) Carney of this city.
