    LEWISTON — Larry E. Zahno, age 68, of Lewiston, died on Monday, August 19, 2013 in Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, after a brief illness.

    Larry was born May 4, 1945 in Ransomville, the son of the late Glenn H. and Dolores May (Bisher) Zahno. He attended Lewiston Porter High School and was a lifelong area resident. He married Patricia (DeLill) Zahno on May 24, 1969. Larry owned and operated Larry Zahno Trucking for 30 years, hauling produce for local farmers, fertilizer and logs. He then worked as a truck driver for Modern Disposal for a number of years before establishing an auto repair shop in Ransomville, which he had operated the last 12 years.

    Larry loved camping and NASCAR. He had enjoyed drag racing at the Niagara Dragway, spending time at the casino and being with people and working.

    He is survived by his wife, Pat; a son, Daniel (Stacey) Zahno of Ransomville; his grand- daughters, Lauren and Leah; a sister, Rita (late Jim) Rohring of Wilson; two brothers, Glenn H. (Suzanne) Zahno, Jr. of Ransomville and Wayne Zahno of Niagara Falls, NY; his sisters-in-law, Carol Burmaster, Michelle Figura and Mary Jo (Joe) Laduca; and several nieces and nephews.

    Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Wednesday from 4-8 PM. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 22, at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Donald Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in North Ridge Cemetery, Church Rd., Town of Cambria. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lewiston Volunteer Fire Co. #1 Ambulance Fund, 145 N. 6th St., P.O. Box 748, Lewiston, NY 14092; or to a charity of one's choice.

    setting for the noon marriage Saturday (May
    24 1969) of Miss Patricia DeLill and Larry
    E. Zahno. The Rev. Terrence Gress officiated
    at the double ring ceremony.
    The bride is the daughter of Mr. and
    Mrs. Daniel D. DeLill, 630 Onondaga St.,
    Lewiston. Mr. Zahno is the son of Mr. and
    Mrs. Glen H. Zahno Sr„ 2509 Ridge Road,
    Ransomville.
    Given in marriage by her father, the bride
    wore a gown of peau de soie with empire
    waist, A-line silhouette and detachable panel
    train. Peau d'ange lace accented the waistline,
    sleeves and scalloped back collar. Her illusion
    veil was secured by a double crown of aurora
    borealis and she carried a colonial bouquet
    MISS MICHELLE DeLill, sister of the
    bride, wasjnaid of honor. Her empire gown
    of avocado~georgette was" designed with A-line
    silhouette, full sleeves and multicolor Venise
    lace trim at the bodice and sleeves, she
    wore a matching organza bow and carried a
    colonial bouquet of carnations, Sweetheart
    roses and snowdrift. .
    Similarly attired in maize gowns were the
    bridesmaids, Miss Mary Jo DeLill, sister of
    the bride, and Mrs. Glen H. Zahno Jr.,
    Ransomville. Janice Burmastcr, Ransomville,
    flower girl, wore an avocado gown
    Glen Zahno Jr., Ransomville. brother of
    the bridegroom, was best man. Ushers were
    Wayne Zahno, Ransomville, brother of the
    bridegroom, and Donald Quarantine David
    Burmastcr, Ransomville, was junior usher.
    A reception was held at Lewiston Fire
    Co. 1. On their return from a wedding trip
    to the Adirondack Mountains, Mr. and Mrs.
    Zahno will make their home in Lewiston.

    The marriage of Miss Dolores
    Blsher, daughter, daughter of Mr.
    and Mrs, George L. Blsher of Pendleton,
    and Glenn H Zahno, son of

    was solemnized Saturday
    at 2:30 at the home of the bride's
    parents, the Rev. Arthur J. Vrooman
    performing the ceremony.
    The bride wore a gown of white
    taffeta with sweetheart neck and
    trimmed with white velvet ribbon.
    She wore gardenias in her hair and
    carried a shower bouquet of lilies
    of the valley and talisman roses.
    Miss Pearl Morse of Lockport, who
    acted as maid of honor, wore robin's

    egg blue taffeta with white accessories
    and wflite gardenias In her
    hair. Her bouquet was of American
    Beauty roses tied with matching
    ribbon. Edward Zahno of Ransomvilie
    was best man.
    Mrs. Bishers, mother of the bride,
    wore sea green crepe with gold acsessories
    and corsage of talisman
    and American Beauty roses and
    yellow daisies. Mrs. Zahno wore
    black crepe with gold accessories
    and also had a corsage of talisman
    and American Beauty roses with
    daisies.
    A reception to 100 guests followed
    the ceremony, house decorations being
    of blue and white crepe paper
    with wedding bells. The bride's table,
    where 25 were seated, was decorated
    with silver candle holders with white
    candles and centered with the
    bride's cake, topped with a miniature
    bride and groom.
    Mr. and Mrs. Zahno will make
    their home on the Million Dollar
    highway.
    Out-of-town guests were from
    North Tonawanda, Cambria, Castile,
    Ransomville, Block church,
    Pekln, Sanborn and Model City.
    Among recent entertainments
    given for the bride was a variety
    shower given by Mrs. Jacob Wagner
    of Ransomville, who entertained 25
    guests.

    Zahno, a native and lifelong resident
    of the Town of Porter, died
    today at his home,. North Lake
    street, after a prolonged-illness.
    Mr. Zahno was born in the Town
    of Porter and was a farmer until
    his retirement several years ago.
    He was a member of St. Peter's
    Lutheran church, North Ridge.
    Surviving are his wife, Mrs.
    Edith Zahno, four sons, Franklin.,
    Thomas and Glenn Zahno, all of
    Ransomville, and Edward Zahno,
    Niagara Falls; two daughters, Mrs.
    Fred Widmer and Mrs. Wallace
    Schultz, both of Lewiston;

    Funeral services will be held at
    the Zahno home Friday at 2 p.m.
    and at 2:30 o'clock at St. Peter's
    church, with the Rev. Carl Oldach

    North Ridge cemetery.

    Zahno, 85, of 4358 Porter Road,
    a lifelong resident of this area,
    died Friday (Nov. 4, 1966) at
    home after a,long illness.
    Mrs. Zahno was born Jan. 9,
    1881 in Ridge Road the daughter
    of the late Mr. and Mrs.
    John Heiden. She was the
    widow of Frank Zahno.
    Mrs. Zahno is survived by
    three sons, Franklin, Thomas
    and Glen Zahno, all of Ransomville;
    two daughters, Mrs.
    Frederick (Lillian) Widmer of
    Model City, and Mrs. Wallace
    (Edna) Scholtz of Ransomville;
    17 grandchildren, and 21 greatgrandchildren.

    at 1:30 p.m. Monday at
    the Hardlson Funeral Home
    here and at 2 p.m. at St. Peter's
    Lutheran Church, North Ridge,
    by Rev., William Faust, pastor

    will be in North Ridge Cemetery.

    and 7 to 9 p.m.

    Apparently dead for two hours,

    George L. Bisher, 56. RD 3, Town
    of Pendleton was found Thursday
    at the wheel of his tractor when
    his son George Jr. went to call
    him for supper.
    Sheriff's deputies said the tractor

    had stalled in some bushes at
    the edge of the field and that
    Mr. Bisher had died of a heart
    attack. When the South Lockport
    and Wendelville Volunteer F i re
    Companies arrived the tractor was
    cold. Dr. L. R. Hurlbut, coroner,

    Mr. Blsher was born In the Town
    of Amherst, son of the late. Mr
    and Mrs. Fred Blsher. He had
    lived for 34 years In Pendleton
    He had been In ill health for eigh
    years. He had previously been employed
    as a steam engineer by the
    former Associated Gas and Electric
    System of Lockport. He was a
    member of fhe Pendleton United
    Brethren Church.
    Surviving are his wife, Lydla,
    three daughters and two sons,
    Mrs. Glenn Zahn, Ransomville. and
    Jane, Karen. Norman and George
    Jr., all at home; three sisters and
    two brothers, Mrs. Clarence Waibel,
    North Tonswanda; Mrs. Roy
    Creasy, Tonawanda; Mrs. R o se

    Bisher, Town of Cambria; also
    four grandchildren.
    Services will be held Sunday at
    2 o'clock at the home and 2:30

    PENDLETON, Jan 29. - Mrs
    Mary Bisher, widow of Fred Bisher,
    died at her home in Pendleton Mon-
    day, Jan. 27, in her 82nd year. Mrs.
    Bisher had been ill the past two
    years and had been tenderly cared
    for by her son and daughter-in-law,
    Mr. and Mrs. George Bisher.
    Surviving are three daughters,
    Mrs. Clarence Wiebel and Mrs. Roy
    Creasy of Tonawanda, and Mrs,
    William Sanford of Lockport; three
    sons, Bert of Cambria Center-, Walter
    and George of Pendleton; alto
    one sister who resides in Missouri.
    Funeral services will be held tomorrow
    afternoon at 2:15 o-clock, at
    the home, and 2:30 at the United
    Brethren church. Rev. A. J. Vrooman,
    the pastor, will officiate, and
    burial will be in Bear Ridge ceme-
    tery.
