July 26, 2014 Ellen Eberwein Anonymous The Tonawanda News The Tonawanda News Sat Jul 26, 2014, 04:16 PM EDT CITY OF TONAWANDA - Ellen "Bunny" (nee Krull) Eberwein, age 80, of the City of Tonawanda, died peacefully, Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Northgate Health Care Facility, Jeanne's House Hospice in North Tonawanda. Ellen was born in North Tonawanda, the daughter of the late Edward and Irene (Haseley) Krull. She attended St. Mark Lutheran School and graduated from North Tonawanda High School in 1951. Bunny was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tonawanda, and retired as a Nurse's Aide from DeGraff Memorial Hospital in 1997. She was well known by her family and her many friends as a kind, concerned and funny mom, grandma, sister, aunt, and all-around good friend. She will be very missed by all. She is survived by her children, Barbara (David) Overholt and Chris Michael Eberwein; her grandchildren, Amy (Christopher) Koscielniak, Michael David Overholt, and great-grandson, Jack Christopher Koscielniak; sister of Phyllis (Krull) Phillips, Roger (Linda) Krull and the late Neil Krull; also survived by her sister-in-law, Barbara (Krull) Thomson, and many loving nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-8 PM at JOHN O. ROTH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 25 William Street (between Morgan & Broad Sts.), City of Tonawanda. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 30 at 11 AM, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Scott and William Streets, City of Tonawanda. Rev. Andrew Abraham officiating. Mrs. Ernestine Krull
Mrs. Ernestine Krull, nee Schultz, 77, of 220 Miller street, died last night
at her home after a prolonged illness. Born in Germany, she had resided in
North Tonawanda the past 25 years, coming here from St. Johnsburg after the
death of her husband, William. She is survived by two daughters, Miss
Gertrude Krull of North Tonawanda and Mrs. Eleonora Olcott of North
Tonawanda; three sons, Arnold and Edward of North Tonawanda and William of
St. Johnsburg; 16 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, three sisters,
Mrs. Emma Andrees of the town of Wheatfield, Mrs. William Runde of North
Tonawanda and Mrs. Louise Krupp of Germany, and three brothers, Charles
Schultz of St. Johnsburg and Otto and Emil Schultz of Germany. Rites will
be held Saturday afternoon at 2 from the residence and half an hour later
from the St. John's church, the Rev. Walter Thiemecke officiating. Burial
will be in St. John's cemetery. Mrs. Krull was a member of the St. John's
church and the Ladies Aid society of St. Matthew's church.

A. D. HASELEY DIES
Had served as North Tonawanda health commissioner
North Tonawanda, April 23-August D. Haseley, 68, died today at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Edward P. Krull, 352 Bennett street, Born in Walmore, Mr. Haseley had lived in North Tonawanda 40 years. He was a health commissioner during the late Eugene De Kleist's regime as mayor. He was a member of the Men's Club of the St. Matthew's Church, in the congregational membership of which he also was enrolled. Surviving are a son, Harvey A. Haseley; a daughter, Mrs. Krull; three grandchildren and five brothers, John and Ledrecht, (sic) Wolcottsville, William, Niagara Falls, and Ferdinand and David, Walmore. The funeral will held Sunday afternoon

Old Resident Dies Suddenly
TONAWADA July 3-Mrs. Emma M. Haseley, 52 years old, died yesterday morning at her home, 140 Schenk Street, After a brief illness with heart disease. Mrs. Haseley was born in Walmore, Niagara County. She has been a resident of North Tonawanda for the last 29 years. Surviving are a husband, August D. Haseley; a. son, Harvey A. Haseley, a daughter, Miss Irene A. Haseley, all of North Tonawanda; father, John D. Walck of Walmore; Three brothers, Anthony and Albert Walck of Walmore and Andrew Walck of Sanborn, and three sisters, Mrs. Herman Bruening of Akron, N.Y., Mrs. Alvin Haseley, of Warren's Corners, and Mrs. Louis Gelz of La Salle. Mrs. Haseley was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid Society of the church. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2.30 o'clock from the residence and half an hour later at St. Matthew's Church. The Rev. Carl Frankenstein officiating. Interment will be in the Sawyer's Creek cemetery

Krull, William, was born in Uckermerk, Germany, December 11, 1837, and came to America in 1843 with his parents. Christian and Mary (Veccue) Krull. His father was one of the early settlers in Wheatfield, and at the time of his death was one of the oldest residents. William Krull has been a farmer all his life and was actively engaged in that pursuit until he moved into Martinsville in 1857. He has been a successful man and has not only acquired ample means, but has also won the esteem of all classes by his honorable career and his strict integrity in all things. In 1857 he married Wilhelmina Milleville, who died in 1871, leaving six children: Augusta, Albertine, William C. and Wilhelmina, who are living; Christian and Matilda are dead. Mr. Krull married for his second wife Louisa Wolfe, and they have two children living, Matilda and Eleanor. Mr. Krull is a Democrat and was highway commissioner for three years in the town of Wheatfield; he has also been a trustee of St. Paul's German Lutheran church for twenty eight years. In 1894 he was a delegate to the Synod held at Pittsburg, and in 1897 delegate to Baltimore. During his career in this county he has always been a leader among his German fellow citizens, and as a man whose word has always been considered as good as his bond.

David Hasley, a highly respected resident of Walmore, and whose age was 82 years, died Wednesday night. A large family survive. The funeral will be observed on Sunday at 2 o'clock in the afternoon at Walmore.
