LOCKPORT-A well known area service station
operator, Walter Rathke, 62, of 7126 Ridge Road, Town
of Lockport, died today, (May 22, 1967) at Roswell Park
Memorial Hospital, Buffalo, after a long illness.
Born in Buffalo June 11, 1904,
the son of Fred and Julia Her-
man Rathke, he had operated
a service station at Ridgewood
for the last 33 years.
He and his widow, Katherine
Kurse, were married July 11,
1925.
Mr. Rathke was a member of
the Emmanuel Lutheran Church
of Ridgewood and a member of
the Fellowship Club of that
church.
Besides his widow, he is survived
by a son, W. Edward
Rathke and a daughter, Mrs.
Harold (Rose) Zapp, both of this
city
Also surviving are three sis
ters, Mrs. Anna Kramer of
Williamsville, Mrs. William Arle
of Albany, and Mrs. Fred Kellner
of Kenmore; two brothers,
Emil Rathke of Williamsville
and Edward Rathke of this city,
and eight grandchildren.
Friends may call at the
Bream Funeral Home, Gasport,
Tuesday and Wednesday from
2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where the
Rev. August Kreutz of the Em-
manuel Church will conduct
services Thursday at 11 a.m.
Burial will be in Wright's Cor-
ners Cemetery.
