    Notes:

    Curtis S. Bobzien, 46 of Middleport, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at home surrounded by his family after a brave battle with cancer. Born February 11, 1974 in Lockport, he was a son of the late William E. and Linda A. (Duwe) Bobzien. Cherished husband of Marla (Kelley) Bobzien; and step-father to Ryan D. Townsend.
    Curt graduated from Lockport High School in 1992 and received his associate's degree from NCCC in August 2018. He worked as an I.T. Specialist for many years. He was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lockport.
    Curt was a member of the YMCA boys swim team from 1978-1992 and was on the high school varsity swim team. Curt held numerous swim records throughout his amateur swim career, starting at age nine with a NYS title in the 25-yard freestyle and, to this day, holds the Lockport High School record in the 400-yard freestyle relay set in 1990 with Mike Treadway, Jim Newton and Joe Esposito.
    Curt was a volunteer swim coach for the YMCA boys and girls swim teams. He could always be found on the sidelines of a soccer game, in the stands at a swim meet or hockey rink cheering on his nieces, nephews and many other kids that he coached. He was a mentor to many.
    His hobbies included golfing, fishing, camping, cooking, traveling and spending time with his family and three loving dogs. He enjoyed watching Nascar, was an avid Sabres fan and loved traveling to the Thousand Islands.
    In addition to his loving wife, step-son and pups, Curt is survived by his siblings, Kristine Hamilton, Jeffrey (Teresa) Bobzien and the late Kimberly Bobzien; son-in-law of Roseann (Jack) Diel; brother-in-law of Amy (Joe) Bork and Lisa (Dave) Poole; uncle to Seth and Kimberlee Hamilton, Taylor and Jordyn Bobzien, Stephanie, Renee (Mike), Lyndsay, Aaron, Joey and David; as well as four great-nieces and great-nephews; and many friends.

    Linda A. Bobzien passed away Thursday December 13, 2018 at Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport.  Born in Lockport on August 6, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Helene Steblein Duwe.  Linda graduated from Lockport Senior High School, Class of 1960, worked as a nurses aide at Briody Health Care Facility and also was a hairdresser out of her home.  She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the 1960’s Club and volunteered with the Lockport YMCA swim team.
    Linda was the mother of Kristine Hamilton, Jeffrey (Teresa) Bobzien, Curtis (Marla) Bobzien, and the late Kimberly Bobzien; grandmother of Seth Hamilton, Kimberlee Hamilton, Ryan Townsend, Taylor Bobzien and Jordyn Bobzien.  She is also survived by her brother, Daniel (Linda) Duwe and several nieces and nephews.
    Friends may call Monday, Dec. 17th from 4-8 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport.  Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 18th at 10 AM in Trinity Lutheran Church, 67 Saxton St., Lockport.  Interment will be in Somerset Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers, memorials to the South Lockport Fire Company, Roswell Park Cancer Institute or to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation would be appreciated by the family.  Visit pruddenandkandt.com.

Duwe, retired manager of the former Loblaws store on Main Street in Lockport, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St. Burial will be in Somerset Cemetery. Duwe, 74, died Sunday (Nov. 19, 1989) in Newfane Inter-Community Memorial Hospital after being stricken at his home on SomersetDrive. He served in the Army during World War II and had worked for Loblaws 34 years before his retirement in 1970. Later,he was the building manager at Barker Central Elementary School for 10 years. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Lyndonville. A former Lockport resident, he had lived in Barker for 19 years. Survivors include his wife, the former Helene Steblein; a son, Daniel; a daughter, Linda Bobzien of Lockport; two brothers,Gordon Dewey of Lockport and Burt J. Duwe of Fresno, Calif; a sister, Ethel Jolls of Lockport, and six grandchildren.

    LOCKPORT — Helene M. Duwe passed away July 13, 2011 in Odd Fellow & Rebekah Health Care Facility. Born March 8, 1918 in Lockport, she was the daughter of Joseph and Edith (Drier) Steblein. Helene was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Trinity Lutheran Guild and Ladies Aide. She was also a member of the Barker Senior Citizens.

    She was predeceased by her husband, Samuel Duwe, on November 19, 1989. Helene is survived by her children, Daniel E. (Linda) Duwe of Barker and Linda Duwe-Bobzien of Lockport; grandmother of Kristine (Robert) Hamilton, Jeffrey (Teresa) Bobzien, Curtis Bobzien, Thomas (Carrie) Duwe, Taney Duwe and the late Kimberly Bobzien; great- grandmother of Seth, Kimberlee, Bret, Morgan, Taylor, Jordyn, Jacob and Samantha; sister of the late Dorothy (late Floyd) Heatherly, Ruth (late Robert) Woodcock, Margaret “Peggy” Smith and Joseph Steblein, Jr.; sister-in-law of William Smith of Florida, Carol Steblein and Hilda Dewey, both of Lockport; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

    Albert Duwe, 54 years old, died last night at the DeGraff Memorial hospital after a brief illness with pneumonia. He had been making his home with his daughter, Mrs. George Marohn, 67 Elm street. Duwe was a member of the local branches of the Orioles and Moose order. He is survived by a wife, Ethel; five sons, William of Buffalo, Carl of Sherkston, Ont., Gordon, Daniel and Burt of Gasport; four daughters, Mrs. Horace Powley of Medina, Mrs. Marohn of Tonawanda and the Misses Bessie and Ethel Duwe of Gasport, a brother, Herman Duwe of Burt, and three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Zuck of Buffalo, Mrs. Gustav Ellman and Mrs. Herman Kirchhoff of North Tonawanda.
