    NORTH TONAWANDA —
    James W. Ziegler, of North Tonawanda, NY, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2013, at his home under the care of his family and Niagara Hospice. He was born in Murphysboro, IL on June 24, 1939, the son of the late Dorotha (late Herbert) (Strothmann) Eggert and Frederick Ziegler.
    Mr. Ziegler moved to the area as a child with his family and has lived in North Tonawanda for the past 50 years. He was a millwright with A.E. Gobert Lumber Company in North Tonawanda for over 40 years, before retiring in 1999. Mr. Ziegler was an active member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and loved to sing in the church choir. He was an avid sportsman, enjoyed woodworking, was a member of the NWAA Football chain crew and was a Buffalo Bills and Sabres fan.
    Mr. Ziegler in survived by his wife of 54 years, Carol A. (Myers) Ziegler; two sons, Mark (Krista) Ziegler of Sanborn, NY and David (Tammy) Ziegler of Greenville, SC; five grandchildren, Melissa, Michael, Amy, Scott, Brittany; one great-granddaughter, Catelyn; three sisters, Carolyn (late John) Hane, Joyce (late Douglas) Penwright and Audrey (late Thomas) Jackson. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Donald Ziegler, William and Thomas Eggert and Geraldine Moran.
    The family will be present on Sunday from 1-4 PM and 6-9 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY. Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 1135 Oliver Street, North Tonawanda, NY, with the Rev. Keith A. Knupp officiating. Memorials may be made in his name to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, and Lockport, NY 14094. Interment in Acacia Park Cemetery, Town of Pendleton, NY.

    Palms and white gladioli graced the altar of San-
    born Methodist Church, Aug. 29, when Miss Carol
    Myers became the bride of James Ziegler.
    The Rev. Donald Haussen per-
    formed the ceremony for the
    daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles
    Daunce, 42 Niagara St., Sanborn,
    and the .son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert
    Eggert, Upper Mountain
    Rd., Sanborn,
    Rosepoint lace formed the bodice
    and edged the sabrina neckline,
    short sleeves and ruffled
    skirt of the bride': nylon tulle
    A pearl trimmed Juliet cap
    held her illusion veil and she
    carried a cascade of white roses.
    She was given in marriage by
    her stepfather, Chatles Daunce.
    Miss Beverly Robinson was
    maid of honor for her sister;
    Miss Joyce Eggert and Miss Judy
    Clouds, BlaisdeU. were brides-
    maids. They wore identically
    styled ballerina length gowns
    fashioned ot nylon chiffon with
    satin cummerbunds ending in a
    bow. Miss Eggert s gown
    was blue and the bridesmaids
    pink. Their horsehair picture hats
    and colonial bouquets of carna-
    tions and pompons matched their
    gowns.
    Donald Ziegler was best man
    lor his brother. Donald Myers,
    Ihe bride's brother, and William
    Eggert, the bridegroom's brother,
    were ushers.-
    The bride's mother wore a blue
    silk organza press, white accessories,
    and a corsage of yellow
    roses. The bridegroom's mother
    chose a black silk sheath dress,
    rose accessories and a rose corsage.
    Out of town guests attending a
    reception in Cambria Community
    Hall were from Rochester, Lockport.
    Niagara Falls The Tonawandas,
    and Pennsylvania.
    To begin a journey to Ontario,
    the bride wore a suit, black and
    white accessories and a corsage
    of white roses.
    Mr. and Mrs. Ziegler will make
    their home in 115 High St., Lockport.
