NIAGARA FALLS — Patricia L. (Ziehm) McGinniss, of Niagara Falls, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2012. She was 69. She was born in North Tonawanda on October 14, 1942, a daughter of the late Arthur H. and Avis (Pasel) Ziehm.

She attended Tonawanda schools and moved to Niagara Falls in 1995. Mrs. McGinniss worked as a laundry aide for many years at Sheridan Manor Nursing Home in Tonawanda.

She is survived by her four children, Lori (Joe) Mundier, Gene (Christine) McGinniss, Kelly Tomicki and Don McGinniss. She is also survived by her siblings, Beverly (Richard) Frasier and Robert Ziehm; brother-in-law, Roger (late Shirley) Mix and eight grandchildren.

PASEL - Fred E Pasel, 79, of 7015 Nash Road, North Tonawanda, Saturday (Aug. 2, 1969) after a long illness. Born in Tonawanda, Mr. Pasel was a life-long resident of the area and a self-employed demolition contractor. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Robert Mellenthien, Mrs. Arthur Ziehm, Mrs. Rudolph Moritz and Mrs. Pauline Witkop; two sisters, Miss Stella Pasel and Mrs. Wilson Zuhr, all of the Tonawandas; a brother, Clarence Pasel of San Diego, Calif., and 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren in the Tonawandas. The family will be present from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hamp Funeral Home Inc., Adam-Seymour Streets, Tonawanda, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Paul W. Gustave Ziehm, 77 years old, died yesterday at the home of his son, Walter, Ward road, St. Johnsburg. Born in Germany, Mr. Ziehm came to America 46 years ago and had resided in the town of Wheatfield since. He leaves a wife, Helen, nee Balzer; six sons, Herman and Ernest, North Tonawanda; William and Charles, Detroit; Albert, Cleveland, and Walter; two daughters, Mrs. Elroy Kline and Mrs. Arthur Shamrock, North Tonawanda; and 28 grandchildren. Rites will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence and at 2:30 o'clock from the St. John's church. Rev. Walter Thiemecke will officiate and burial will be in St. John's cemetery.

GUSTAVE ZIEHM DIES
Town of Wheatfield Resident Had Lived Here for Past 46 Years
Gustave Ziehm, a resident of the town of Wheatfield for 46 years, died yesterday afternoon in the home of his son, Walter Ziehm, Ward road, St. Johnsburg. He was 77 years old and was born in Germany, coming to this country and to Wheatfield 46 years ago.
Surviving Mr. Ziehm are his wife, Mrs. Helen Ziehm, Wheatfield; six sons, Herman and Ernest, North Tonawanda, William and Charles. both of Detroit, Mich., Albert, of Cleveland, and Walter of St. Johnsburg, and two daughters, Mrs. Elroy Kline and Mrs. Arthur Shamrock, both of North Tonawanda. Twenty-eight grandchildren also survive. The funeral will be held on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the home of his son, Walter Ziehm, St. Johnsburg, and at 2:30 o'clock in St John's church, St. Johnsburg, with the Rev. Walter Thiemeck (sic) officiating Burial will be in St. John's cemetery

William Schultz, sixty-nine years
old, a well-known stone mason, died
at his home on the Nash road yesterday
morning, after an illness of several
months. He was born in Germany
and had lived in the town of Wheatfield
most of his life. Besides his
widow, seven daughters, Mrs. Edward
Channell of Wolcottsville, Mrs. George
Peter of Martinsville, Mrs. Charles
Rockwood of Wilson, Mrs. William
Morwitz and the Misses Emma, Bertha
and Ells Schultz of St. Johnsburg,
and five sons, Albert, Gustav, Her-
man, Rudolph and Charles Schultz, all
of. St. Johnsburg, survive. The funeral
will be held from the family
home at 1:30 o'clock on Sunday afternoon
and an hour later from the St.
John's Lutheran church at St. Johnsville,
the Rev. William Albrecht officiating.
Burial will be made in St.
John's cemetery at St. Johnsburg.

LIFELESS BODY IN CREEK
Mrs. Amelia Schultz Dropped From Sight Tuesday - Search Ends in Discovery of Remains Face Downward in Stream About Mile From Her Home
Mrs. Amelia Schultz, 72 years old, wife of the late William Schultz of Nash Road, disappeared from her home late Tuesday afternoon and yesterday her lifeless body was found in the bed of a creek, which runs through a woods about a mile distant from her home. Coroner J. E. Helwig investigated and said he believed Mrs. Schultz ended her life. Members of the woman's family were inclined to accept the theory that the aged woman slipped into the creek and was drowned, when she was too weak to pull herself out. The ditch, in which the body was found, contained less than a foot of water and in no part of it was the body covered. A waist and eye glasses, which Mrs. Schultz wore when she left home, were found on the creek bank. These facts caused the decision reached by the coroner. The body was face downward in the stream. Mrs. Schultz had been in ill health for a long time. Coroner Helwlg learned. She resided with her daughter, Mrs. Herman Ziehm on the Schultz homestead on Nash road, east of the North Tonawanda city line. Mrs. Schultz was in the habit of making frequent trips to the woods where her body was found. She went there early Tuesday afternoon and returned in a short time. Late in the afternoon, she strolled away again and, when she failed to come home Tuesday night, relatives instituted a search which resulted in the recovery of the body yesterday. Mrs. Schultz was born in Germany and had resided in this vicinity 40 years. Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Frank Kage of North Tonawanda;
Mrs. Charles Rockwood of the town of Lockport; Mrs. Tibbet of North Tonawanda; Mrs. Moritz of the town of Wheatfield; Mrs: Fred Hahn of Martinsville and Mrs. Herman Ziehm of Nash road; five sons, Albert of North Tonawanda, Gustave and Herman of the town of Wheatfield, Rudolph of Chicago and Charles of Lockport; 39 grandchildren and three great grand children. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Ziehm residence and at 2:30 from St. John's church at St. Johnsburg. Rev. Walter Thiemecke officiating. Burial will be in St. John's cemetery.
