    Emil ''Duck'' Zielinski, 85, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away suddenly on Thursday, October 16, 2014. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on December 15, 1928, he was the son of the late Karol and Agnes (Bereza) Zielinski and attended local schools. Emil entered the United States Army on December 13, 1950, serving during the Korean War as a member of the 11th Airborne Division, 188th Regiment.

    Emil was a member of the former St. Stanislaus Kostka Church and was an iron worker for and a member of the iron workers Local #9. In his younger years he was a semi-pro boxer and always enjoyed watching boxing matches. Emil was also an avid outdoors man who loved to fish and hunt, and enjoyed collecting antiques.

    He is survived by his wife, Theresa (Walasek) Zielinski; children, Donna Zielinski, Paula (Dr. Edward) Ventresca and James (Sandra) Zielinski and grandchildren, Sara, Leah, James Zielinski and Maria, Ross and Alec Ventresca. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Stanley "Cy", Frank, Edwin "Cork", John, Charlie "Chuck" and his sisters, Jennie Zielinski, Theresa McMurray, Sophie Adamczyk and Isabelle Wenzel.

    Friends may call on Sunday, October 19, from 5-9 PM at ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME INC., 319-24th Street, cor. Welch Ave., Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin at 9:00 AM Monday, October 20th, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM at Divine Mercy Parish, 2437 Niagara Street, Niagara Falls, NY, with Rev. Jacek Mazur officiating. Burial with military honors following in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. Donations in his memory may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094-1231.

    Theresa E. Zielinski, 93, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on December 19, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Casimir and Karolina (Rusek) Walasek.


    Theresa was a graduate of Niagara Falls HS and worked for the Carborundum Company before starting her family. She enjoyed reading novels, preparing Polish meals, listening to Polka music, and cheering for the Buffalo Bills! She cherished the time spent with her children, grandchildren and 10 siblings.


    She is survived by her children, Donna, Paula, and Jim (Sandra) Zielinski; grandchildren, Sara, Leah, and James; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Emil Zielinski; brothers, William, and Henry Walasek; sisters, Sophie Bozek, Katherine Apen, Clara Zankowski, Celia Wisz, Estelle Hriczak, Martha Bulinski, Renee Dunaj, and Bernadette Lachowski.


    The family of Theresa would also like to thank her caregivers at Schoellkopf Health Center, where she spent the last several months visiting with family, friends, patients, and her grandpup "Duck".


    Friends may call Monday, November 20th from 4-8 PM at ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME INC., 319 24th Street, Niagara Falls, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 AM on Tuesday, November 21st at Divine Mercy Parish, 2437 Niagara Street, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Duane Klizek officiating. Burial following in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
