ohn P. Zito Jr. 82, formerly of Fort Lauderdale, FL passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on January 7, 1934 he was the son of the late John P. and Elizabeth (Morganti) Zito Sr., graduating from Niagara Falls High School in 1950. After high school he entered the United States Marine Corp on January 30, 1951, serving during the Korean War. John was honorably discharged on January 29, 1954 as a Sergeant, receiving the National Defense Service Medal for his service.


After serving his country, John began his career as a general contractor and developer.


John was the patriarch of the Zito family. He is survived by his children, Sharon Zito, John(Debbie) Zito, Gloria Zito, Dominique Zito and Catherine(Doug) Seitzer; five grandchildren; brother and sisters, Valerie (late Frank) Doris, Elaine McCune, Peter Zito and Marie Zito. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.


Private funeral services & burial will take place at the convenience of the family in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to a Charity of One's Choice. Arrangements entrusted to ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME INC.

Peter Zito, 67, of 1531 Pierce
Ave., a retired foreman of the
New York Central Railroad and
resident of this city for the last 50
years, died yesterday (Feb. 12,
1957) at Memorial Hospital. Mr.
Zito had been ill a short time.
Born in italy,he was the hus-
band of the late Maria Zito. Mr,
Zito was a member of the Christopher
Columbus Society, here, and
the Brotherhood of Maintenance of
Ways Employes, Lodge No. 865.
Survivors include five sons,
John, Anthony, Frank, Peter Jr.,
and Dominick Zito and three
daughters, Miss Irene Zito, Mrs.
Joseph DeSantis and Mrs. Clyde
Watkins, all of this city; two sisters.
Mrs. Rose Piccirello and Mrs.
Carmello DeBeneditto. both of
Long Island; 24 grandchildren; two
great -granchildren and several
nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at
9 a.m., Saturday at the Magaddino
Memorial Chapel and a Requiem
Mass will be offered at
9:45 a.m., at St. Joseph's Church.
Burial will be in Gate of Heaven
Cemetery.

Zito was horn in Italy but came
to this city 42 years ago.
The services will be held at 9:15
a.m. at lhe Spallino Funeral Home
and at 9:45 a.m. at St. Joseph's
Church. Burial will he in Gate of
Heaven Cemetery.
Surviving Mrs. Zito are her hus-
band, Peter Zito; three daughters.
Mrs. Caroline DeSantis, Mrs. Clyde
Watkins and Miss Irene Zito, all
of this city; five sons John,
Anthony, Frank and Dominic Zito,
all of this city, and Peter Zito Jr.,
Philadelphia, and a brother, Joseph
Tartaglio, Brideport, Conn.
Twenty-three grandchilden and a
great grandchild also survive.

Dominick Morganti, 80, of
1616 Walnut Ave. died Saturday
in Niagara Falls Memorial
Medical Center.
He was born in Pagliare del
Tronto, Italy, and came to this
city in 1906. He operated the
Morganti poultry shop in the
city market from 1939 to 1945,
when he retired.
Before that he worked for five,
years in the caustic department
of Hooker Chemical Corp.
He is survived by his wife,
Clara Cataldo Morganti, two
daughters Mrs. John
(Elizabeth) Zito and Mrs. John
(Beatrice) DiCiccho, and two
sons, John Morganti and Attilio
Morganti, all of this city; a
sister, Antoinette Morganti, in
Italy; 11 grandchildren and 17
great-grandchildren.
Private funeral services were
held todav at the M. J. Colucci
Funeral Chapel. .Burial was in
Oakwood Cemetery.
