ZOBRIST - Jacob Zobrist, 84,
for many years a resident of
Shawmut, Pa., died Sunday after-
noon (June 22, 1958). He was born
in Switzerland. He leaves his
wife, Elizabeth; six sons, Jacob
Jr., Arnold Ernest, John and
Fred of North Tonawanda a n d
Paul Zobrist of Shawmut, Pa.;
two daughters, ^Mrs. Raymond
Malchow and Mrs. John McCully
of the Tonawandas; 15 grandchildren,
and 12 great grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday afternoon,
June 25, from the Lehman
Hammond Funeral Home at Ridgway,
Pa. The Rev. Richard E.
Kneller will officiate. Burial in
Otts Cemetery, Ridgway

Jacob married Elizabeth about 26 Jun 1899 in Brians, Switzerland. Elizabeth was born about 1882 in Switzerland; died on 11 Nov 1961 in Shawmut, PA. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

ZOBRIST - Mrs. Elizabeth Zobrist,
80, of Shawmut, Pa., died
unexpectedly Saturday, (Nov. 11,
1961). She was the wife of the
late Jacob Zobrist Sr. Surviving
are six sons, Jacob, Arnold, Ernest,
Fred and John Zobrist, all
of North Tonawanda, and Paul Zobrist
of Shawmut; two daughters,
Mrs. John McCully of North Tonawanda
and Mrs. Raymond Malchow
of Tonawanda, 15 grandchildren
and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted
at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14,
from the Lehman Hammond Funeral
Parlors, Ridgway, Pa

The home of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob
Zobrist, of Shawmut, Pa., was the
scene of a Golden Wedding Annilor
versary party, held in their honor,
on Saturday, June 18. The
celebration was enthusiastically
enjoyed by everyone in attendi
ance, all members of the family
being present with the exception
of two of the grandsons, Kenneth
Malchow, of Tonawanda, N. Y.
and Paul H. Zobrist, who is with
the A.A.F. in Tucson, Arizona.
Mr. and Mrs. Zobrist were
married fifty years ago in Brians,
Switzerland. They came to America
in 1912 to make their home
and have lived in Shawmut, Pa.,
up to the present time.
° They have eight children, as
follows: Jacob Zobrist of North
Tonawanda; Paul Zobrist, Shaw-
mut; Arnold Zobrist, North Tonawanda;
Mrs, Raymond Malchow
of Tonawanda; Ernest Zobrist of
North Tonawanda; Mrs. John Mc
Cully of North Tonawanda; John
Zobrist of Niagara Falls, N. Y. and
Fred Zobrist of North Tonawanda.
Grandchildren and one greatgrandchild
in attendance include.

L. Grand and son, Timmy, of
Akron, Ohio; Mr. and Mrs. Dennis

Celebrating with Mr. and Mrs.
Zobrist and family were Mr. and
Mrs. Jacob Moser, of LeRoy, Minnesota
and daughter Ruth Moser
of Bu|falo. N. Y. Also Mr. Fred
Kohler of Niagara Falls, N. Y,
Mr. Zobrist, who, for the past
five months has been on the sick
list, is steadily improving, and it
is sincerely hoped by their many
friends and relatives that he will
enjoy complete recovery soon.
