    a short illness. Born in Scranton,
    Pa. Mr. Bachman had resided in
    Tonawanda 14 years. He was an
    employe of Canadian Cartage &
    Warehouse Corp. of Buffalo for the
    past five years. He is survived by
    his wife, Pearl (nee Richardson)
    Backman; two daughters, Mrs.
    Dennis (Arlene) Zobrist of Tona-
    wanda and Mrs. Frank (Lillian)
    Bruno of New York City; three
    sons, Harry M. Jr., of North Ton-
    awanda, Russell P. and James R.
    of Tonawanda; four grandchil-
    dren; three sisters, Mrs. Myrtha
    Foderaro, Mrs. Frank Casterline
    of Scranton, Pa., and Mrs. John
    Carey, Jr. of Ocean City, N.J.;
    four brothers, Kenneth of Vesta-
    burg, Pa., George and Paul of Al-
    lentown, Pa., and Garfield of
    Scranton, Pa. Friends may call at
    the Hilliard Funeral Home, 147
    Delaware St., where services will
    be held Monday at 2 p.m., the
    Rev. Walter F. Hetzel officiating.
    Burial will be in Elmlawn Ceme-
    tery.
