    A very pretty wedding was sol-
    emnized on Thursday evening at
    7 o'clock at St. Mathew's church
    when Miss Ruth Wilke became
    the bride of Mr. Carl Bartel.
    The church was decorated with
    palms and garden flowers, and
    an arch covered with similax.
    The bride, who was given in
    marriage by her father, wore a
    gown of white satin made on prin-
    cess lines with a long train trim-
    med with lace. Her veil was of
    illusion, with a lace cap, and chinn
    strap, and caught with blossoms
    at each side. She carried a large
    shower bouquet of bride's roses
    and baby breath.
    Mrs. Arthur Hood, matron of
    honor, cousin of the bride, wore
    apricot satin with a large cape
    trimmed with ostrich feathers and
    slippers to match. She carried an
    arm bouquet of talisman roses and
    baby breath tied with blue rib-
    bon.
    The bridesmaids, Mrs. Ralph Low-
    stetter and Mrs. Raymond Bach
    were gowned alike in blue satin
    with tiered skirts and capes, and
    apricot sashes. they wore slip-
    pers to match and carried Johanna
    Hill roses and blue baby breath,
    tied with apricot ribbon.
    The little flower girl, Janet Carol
    Hall, cousin of the bride, wore a
    blue crepe dress with short waist
    and tiered skirt. She wore a blue
    band in her hair and carried a
    basket of mixed flowers.
    Mr. Robert Forsyth acted as best
    man and Messrs. Arthur Wood and
    Irvin Zuch were ushers.
    During the ceremony the organ-
    ist played Traumeral and Mrs.
    William Truesdell sang two selec-
    tions.
    The bride's mother wore brown
    crepe and matching accessories
    and a shoulder bouquet of pink
    roses. Her grandmother wore
    dark green crepe and a shoulder
    bouquet.
    Mrs. George Main, sister of the
    grooom, wore wine transparent vel-
    vet and a shoulder bouquet. Mrs.
    E. Helwig, another sister, wore
    blue crepe trimmed with velvet and
    a shoulder bouquet.
    A wedding dinner for one hun-
    dred guests was served at the
    church hall and later a reception
    was given at the home of the
    bride.
    After October first, Mr. and Mrs.
    Bartel will be at home at 111
    Rumbold avenue.

    Anton F. Wilke, 51 years old,
    111 Rumbold avenue, died yesterday
    afternoon in the Buffalo General
    hospital. He was a life-long
    resident of North Tonawanda. He
    was a member of the St. Matthew's
    church and the Men's club
    of the church. Surviving are a
    wife, Agnes, nee Zuch; a daughter,
    Mrs. Carl A. Bartel, North Tonawanda;
    a brother, Frank, Buffalo,
    and two sisters, Mrs. Gustav Zuch
    and Mrs. Edwin Sahr, North Tonawanda.
    The funeral will be held
    Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock
    from the residence and half an
    hour later from the St. Matthew's
    church. Rev. Carl Frankenstein
    officiating. Burial will be in St.
    Paul's cemetery.

    Tonawanda, where services
    will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m.,
    the Rev. A. W. Moldenhauer officiating.
