    Jean (nee Rech) Mago O’Connor, age 90, of Amherst, died Sunday, August 2, 2015 at Kenmore Mercy Hospital after a long illness. Born in North Tonawanda, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Frances (nee Seguin) Rech. Mrs. O’Connor was a graduate of Tonawanda High School, Class of 1942. She was the co-owner and operator of Sloat’s Bakery in North Tonawanda, and then was the office manager for the Little White House Restaurant in Williamsville before retiring. A resident of Amherst for the past 35 years, she was a charter member of the Tan-Tara Golf Club and a past president of the Tan-Tara Women’s Golf Association. Mrs. O’Connor was a first year honoree by the Twin City Women’s Bowling Association in 2000, and was also a past-president of the DeGraff Hospital Auxiliary. She was the wife of the late Frank L. Mago, Jr. and the late William B. O’Connor, Sr., and sister of the late Walter R. Rech.

    She is survived by her daughter, Lyn (Michael) Lozinsky of Elma; three step-sons, William (Sharon) O’Connor, Jr. of Florida, George (Susan) O’Connor of Florida and David (Mary) O’Connor of the Town of Tonawanda; three cherished grandsons, Michael (Kathryn) O’Connor, David (Ashley) O’Connor and William O’Connor; and three dear great-grandsons, Caleb, Quinton and David O’Connor.

    Friends may call from 3-7 PM on Wednesday only at the HAMP FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 37 Adam Street at Seymour, Tonawanda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Thursday at St. Francis Chapel, 71 Adam Street, Tonawanda; the Rev. Msgr. Richard Wetter officiating. Friends invited. Entombment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda. If desired, memorials to Hospice Buffalo, 225 Como Park Blvd., Cheektowaga, NY 14227, are preferred by the family.

    A pretty Autumn wedding was solemnized Saturday at
    10:30 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church when Miss Jean
    Frances Rech, daughter of Walter V. Rech of 37 Seymour
    St., became the bride of Frank L. Mago Jr. of Bryant St.
    Hie Rt. Rev. Msgr. John A. Weismantel performed the ceremony
    before the altar which was decorated with vases of
    white pompons and fern. Clusters of white pompons marked
    the family pews.
    John McCully was the soloist with Mrs. Bacon at the

    organ.
    Attendants for the bride were
    Mrs. Allan McCully, matron of
    honor, Mrs. Hubert Miller and
    Mrs. Norman Burton, bridesmaids.
    Jack Van Slyke attended Mr.
    Mago as beet man and the ushers
    ware Walter R. lech, the bride's
    brother, and Blakt Mago, brother
    of the bridegroom.
    The bride was gowned in white
    chiffon velvet fashioned with a
    portrait neckline with an illusion
    insertion. Three soft folds of the
    velvet formed a bertha collar
    which enhanced the fitted bodice
    and long pointed sleeve! The full
    skirt fell into a cathedral length
    train. Her fingertip veil of imported
    illusion was held with a
    braided crown of matching velvet
    and she carried white pompons
    and Chrysanthemums with green
    fern in a cascade bouquet. The
    bride wore a strand of pearls the
    gift of the bridegroom.
    Bridal attendants chose emerald
    green velveteen gowns styled with
    sweetheart necklines with dainty
    bishop collars, fitted bodices,
    bracelet length sleeves and bouffant
    skirt with bustle backs. They
    carried white pompons and wore
    green velvet braided crowns in
    their coiffures.
    Mrs. Walter R. Rech, sister-inlaw
    of the bride, wore a black
    crepe dress with black accessories
    and a corsage of yellow roses and
    pompons. The bridegroom's mother,
    Mrs. Frank Mago Sr., was attired
    in hunter green crepe with
    brown and green accessories and
    wore a corsage of yellow roses
    and pompons. The grandmother of
    the bride chose a black crepe dress
    with" black accessories and a corsage
    of pink roses and white pompons.
    After the ceremony a wedding
    breakfast for 17 guests was held
    at the Sheraton Hotel where white
    chrysanthemums and pompons
    decorated the table. In the evening
    150 guests attended a reception
    in the American Legion
    Home. Out of town guests came
    from Syracuse, Williamsville,
    Buffalo, Detroit and Grand Rapr
    ids., Mich.
    Mr. and Mrs. Mago left for a
    motor trip through the Southern
    states, the bride wearing a green
    dress with brown accessories. After
    Nov. 22 they will be at home
    in 103 Felton St.
    The bride was the guest of
    honor at several shower parties.
    Hostesses were Mrs. Allan McCully,
    variety shower; Mrs. Walter
    R. Rech, bedroom and kitchen,
    shower: Mrs. Blake Mago, Mrs.
    Hubert Miller and Mrs. Norman
    Burton, linen shower, Mrs. Frank
    L. Mago, spinster dinner and Mrs.
    Robert Litchka, a luncheon.

    Walter V. Rech, 60, a charter,
    member of Tonawandas Post 264
    American Legion, died unexpect-
    Saturday night.
    Mr. Rech was stricken with a
    heart attack in his home at 305
    Robinson St. North Tonawanda
    firemen were called at 8:51 p.m.
    to the Rech home. They administered
    oxygen under Assistant
    Chief Clarence Globe's direction
    Mr. Rech, however, failed to respond.
    Born in Tonawanda. Mr. Rech
    was a son of the late Christian
    Rech, a pioneer building contractor
    in the community. He served
    in the Army during World War I
    and was a charter member of Tonawandas
    Post 264 and a member
    of the first Last Man's Club of the
    post. He was an Eldredge Bicycle
    Club member.
    Before his retirement four years
    ago, Mr. Rech served a decade
    as steward of Tonawandas Post
    264. He had previously been employed
    by the Hubman Cement
    Vault Co. Mr. Rech had been ill
    for a long period since his retirement.
    He is survived by his son, Wal-
    ter R. Rech; a daughter, Mrs.
    Frank L. Mago, Jr.; a brother,
    Charles C Rech, and a sister, Mrs.
    Albert E. Albon, and four grand-
    children in the Twin Cities, and by
    a sister, Mrs. Eugene A. Kinsey
    of Niagara Falls.
    Members of Tonawandas Post
    264 will meet at 8 p.m. today in
    the post headquarters before going
    in a body to the Hamp Funeral
    Home. The Rev. Paul G. Smith-
    son. Broad St. Baptist Church min
    ister. will officiate at the funeral
    2 p.m. tomorrow. Burial will
    be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

    Mrs. Frances Rech 34 years old
    life-long resident of North Tona
    wanda, died yesterday afternoon
    at her home, 161 Keil street. Her
    death followed an illness of ten
    days.
    Surviving are a husband, Walter;
    a son, Walter Richard; par
    ents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred J. Seguin;
    three brothers, Edward J., Leo F..
    and Fred J., and three sisters,
    Mrs. Walter Wendel, Mrs. Louis
    Berhalter and Mrs. Kennard Jenzen,
    all of the Tonawandas .with
    the exception of Fred, who resides
    in Kenmore.
    The funeral will be held Saturday
    morning at 9:30 o'clock at
    the residence and half an hour
    later at the Ascension church
    Burial will be at Mt. Olivet.
