    Norman "Norm" Reichert passed into the Lord's hands on January 29 at Schoellkopt Health Center after a brief illness. Norm was born of the late Edward and Sophia (Sodke) Reichert at home on the family homestead in The Town of Wheatfield in 1926. Norm was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda. He and his wife Betty (Courtier) were married in 1957. They were married for 38 years until Betty's passing in 1995. Norm and Betty enjoyed local travel, sightseeing and camping.

    Norman Served in the US Army from 1946 - 1950 winning the Combat Infantry Badge, American Campaign Ribbon, WWII Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon. Norm also served in the Army National Guard, Artillery, from 1955-1957.

    Following his military service Norm worked at the Herschell Carrousel Factory, drove truck and concrete mixer and was the maintenance

    the maintenance superintendent at Niagara County Sewer District 1 from where he retired. Norm enjoyed road rallying and sportscar activities with many car clubs including the Lockport Sportscar Club. Norm was also very active with the Western New York Gas & Steam Engine Association as well as numerous historical societies. Antique tractors, gas engines and farm equipment was a favorite hobby of his. Almost any time you stopped by the farm you could hear an antique hit & miss engine running. Norm was also a member of The American Legion Post 1451.

    Norm is survived by his son Wayne, daughter-in-law Nancy (Genet), sister Irene Gresock, grandson Jeffery Flach, grand- daughter Dawn Windnagle and numerous nieces, nephews and great grandchildren. Norm was predeceased by his daughter Marley Waterstram.

    There will be a service of worship and remembrance for Norman on Sunday February 8 at 12:30 pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 453 Old Falls Blvd. North Tonawanda NY. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Niagara County Hospice. Arrangements were with the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME (731-3234).

    for the past 25 years and was a
    member of Immanuel Lutheran
    Church.
    She is survived by her
    husband, Edward H. Reichert,
    a daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Irene)
    Martinez of Lewiston; a son,

    George Stieg, and a brother,

    conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at
    Immanuel Lutheran Church by

    Lutheran Cemetery

    NORTH TONAWANDA, Oct. 3-
    Jacob Reichert, 86, died suddenly
    this morning at his home, 141 Som-
    mer street. Death was due to a
    heart attack. Mr. Reichert was born
    in the Town of Wheatfield and had
    resided in this vicinity all his life.
    He is survived by two sons, Wil-
    liam and Edward of Wheatfield, N.
    Y.; a daughter, Mary Werth,
    of Sanborn, N.Y.; two grandchil-
    dren and three brothers, Christian,
    of Niagara Falls, John and Gus-
    tave, of this city.
    Last rites will be held Saturday
    at 2 p.m. from the Hamp funeral
    home, 37 Adam street, and at 2:30
    at St. Matthew's Evangelical Luth-
    eran church. The Rev. Carl Frank-
    enstein will officiate. Interment
    will be in St. Matthew's cemetery.

    Mrs. Mary Reichert. 74 years old, died
    Saturday afternoon at her home, 141
    Sommer street Stricken with paralysis
    four years ago, Mrs. Reichert had
    been an invalid since. Ten days ago
    she sustained a second stroke, resulting
    in her death.
    Mrs. Reichert was born in the town
    of Amherst. She lived most of her
    life on the Nash road, town of Wheatfield,
    coming to North Tonawanda 15
    years ago. She Is survived by a husband,
    Jacob Reichert: one daughter,
    Mrs. Henry Werth. Sanborn: two sons.
    William and Edward, town of Wheatfield;
    one grandchild and three sisters.
    Mrs. Ernest Pels. Mrs. William Rog-
    gow and Mrs. William Bucchardt, all of
    North Tonawanda.
    The funeral' will be held Wednesday
    afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the
    residence and half an hour later at St,
    Matthew's church, the Rev. Carl Frankenstein
    officiating.
