    WILSON - Donald K. Beutel, age 72, of Wilson, died Thursday, September 8, 2011, unexpectedly. Born July 27, 1939, he was the son of the late William R. and Gladys E. Beutel. He attended St. Peter's Lutheran School and was a 1957 graduate of Wilson High School. Donald also had additional schooling at Coyne Electrical School in Chicago. He worked for the Erie Barge Canal for 30 years as a Lock and Bridge Operator from which he retired. Donald repaired televisions and electronic devices and, along with his family, owned and operated Beutel Greenhouses. A former member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, he was a member of Concordia Evangelical Lutheran Church of which he was a Deacon. Donald was very instrumental in the addition of the front and back of the church. A former member of South Wilson Fire Company he loved people, plants, farming and greenhouses. He enjoyed spending time with family, hunting, fishing and was the kindest, nicest man in the world. Donald married Ruth Martha Dobberstien in 1958; she predeceased him in February of 2007. Also predeceasing him was a grandson, Jason Hibbard in 1997. He married Sandra Irene Gregory July 12, 2008. Surviving him, besides Sandra, are William (Amy) Beutel of Newfane, Lori (William) Devine of Panama City, FL, Glenn (Joan) Beutel of Devener, CO, Lt. Col. Ret. Kenneth and Lt. Col. Ret. Debra Beutel of Staford, VA; step-children, Deborah (Raymond) Norris of East Amherst, Mary Lou (Daniel) O'Brien of Grand Island, Thomas (Suzanne) Dean of Ransomville, Kevin (Carey) Dean of Burbank, CA. Also survived by a sister, Shirley (Merlin) Hall of North Dakota; 17 grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Monday 3-7 PM in the Hamilton and Clark Funeral Home, 270 Young St., Wilson. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 AM in Concordia Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3121 Beebe Road, Newfane. Internment will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial contributions to Concordia Evangelical Lutheran Church.

    WILSON - Funeral services were conducted today for William R. Beutel, 65, of 4728 Chestnut St, this community, who died Saturday (July 2, 1966) at Lockport Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for two day. Mr. Beutel was born July 17, 1906, in North Tonawanda, the son of August and Louise Praker Beutel. He was married April 11, 1931 to Gladys Maacks Beutel, who survives. He had operated a farm at the Chestnut Street address. Mr. Beutel was a member of St Peter's Lutheran Church at North Ridge, a former trustee and Sunday School teacher of the church and a former member of the Board of Christian Education. He was an exempt member of the South Wilson Fire Co. Besides his widow, he is survived by a son, Donald K. Beutel, this community; a daughter, Mrs. Myrlin (Shirley) Hall, Edgerton, Wis.; a sister, Mrs: Elwin (Hilda) Ahrens, Lockport, and seven grandchildren. Mr. Beutel also was the brother of the late Mrs. Mabel Goldpenny and Mrs. Gertrude Schuman. Rev. William Faust of St Peter's Lutheran Church, conducted the services at Hamilton Funeral Chapel and at St Peter's Church, North Ridge. Burial was in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery at North Ridge.

    WILSON. April 14-The marriage
    of Miss Gladys Maacks, daughter of
    Mr. and Mrs. William Maacks of
    Chestnut street, Wilson, to William
    Beutel was solemnized Saturday
    evening, April 11 at 7:00 o'clock in
    the North Ridge Lutheran church,
    the Rev. John P. Barkow officiating.
    The marriage vows were exchanged
    underneath an arch decorated with
    morning flories and Easter lillies
    and illuminated with electric lights.
    Spring plants also formed part of
    the decorations.
    The bride, escorted by Richard
    Beutel, was gowned in white flat
    crepe and a cap shaped veil with a
    wreath of orange blossoms and lily
    of the valley and set with twelve
    rhinestones. She wore white slip-
    pers and carried a shower bouquet
    of white roses, sweet peas and
    Easter lilies. Mrs. Carl Seigfried,
    matron of honoor, wore a princess
    gown of spun gold yellow. The
    bridesmaids, Miss Belva Donner,
    wore a similar gown of cactus rose
    while the Misses margaret and
    Loretta Goldpenny wore gowns alike
    of turquoise blue and orchid. Each
    wore an attractive bandeau set
    with thirteen rhinestones and car-
    ried a bouquet of roses contrasting
    with the color scheme of their
    dresses.
    The bridegroom was attended by
    Carl Seigfried. The ushers were Van
    Miles and Elmer Donner. Jeanette
    Schuman, niece of the bridegroom
    acted as flower girl. she wore a
    pink georgette frock and carried a
    basket of sweet peas and snap-
    dragons.
    A reception for thirty guests was
    held at the home of the brides
    parents. Decorations were white and
    blue, fifteen being seated at the
    bride's table which was centered
    with a huge bridal cake. After a
    motor trip to Washington, D. C.
    and other places, Mr. and Mrs.
    Beutel will make their home at
    East Wilson.
