    (August 7,1985). Mr. Thielke was a
    member, president and elder of the
    Calvary Lutheran Church, Silver
    Spring, Md. and former member
    and president of the Mesia Lutheran
    Church, Fairview Park, Ohio. He
    was active in the Church Walther
    League at St. Matthew Lutheran
    Church in No. Tonawanda and was
    active in the American Field
    Service. Graduated from No. Tonawanda
    High School in 1931, received
    his B.S. from Cornell University 1935
    and bis M.S. from Perm State University
    in 1963. He was a retired
    chemist for the U.S. Dept. of
    Energy.
    Mr. Thielke is survived by his wife
    Lucille (nee Knoell) Thielke; two
    sons, Paul A. and Alan G. Thielke;
    four daughters, Mrs. Robert
    (Elaine) Steinbach, Mrs. Greg
    (Ann) Busby, Miss Phyllis Thielke
    and Miss Laura Thielke; one
    brother Donald (Phyllis) Thielke;
    two grandchildren, Rebecca and
    Katherine Steinbach; his motherin-
    law, Mrs. Elsie Knoell.
    No prior visitation. Graveside
    services will be held Monday at 1:00
    p.m. in St. Matthew Lutheran Cemetery.

Wife of the late George Knoell and mother of the late Leo Knoell. Mrs. Knoell is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Herman (Sylvia) Schumacher, Mrs. Helena Castellion, Mrs. Margaret Richer). all of North Tonawanda; Mrs. Irene Perrott of Pocasset, Mass.; Mrs. Lucille Thielke of Gaithsberg, Maryland; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Beatrice Knoell; two sisters in-law, Mrs. Ruth Schoenfeldt and Mrs. Edna Wollenberg, all of North Tonawanda; 19 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and many great-great-grandchildren. Friends may call SUNDAY and MONDAY 2-4, 7-9 p.m. at the Wattengel Funeral Home, Inc., 307 Oliver St., North Tonawanda. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Matthew Lutheran Church, the Rev. A. W. Moldenhauer officiating. Interment in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.     John C. Thielke, 85, a resident
    of 279 Payne, avenue for many
    years and a former alderman in
    North Tonawanda, died this morning
    in the Meyer Memorial hospital,
    Buffalo, after an illness of
    several weeks. In recent»years
    he had been superintendent of
    the Haeberle Lumber company of
    Niagara Falls. Prior to assuming
    the position at the Falls he was
    employed as superintendent of the
    Knoell Lumber company in Tonawanda.
    He was a member of
    the St. Matthew's Lutheran
    church.
    Mr. Thielke was born in Germany
    and had resided in North
    Tonawanda more than 60 years.
    He is survived by two daughters,
    Mrs. Eleanor L. Fries of Buffalo
    and Mrs. Owen B. Blackmore of
    North Tonawanda, five grandchildren
    and two great grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held at
    3:30 p. m. Sunday from the Hamp
    Funeral Home, 37 Adam street.
    The Rev. Carl Frankenstein will
    officiate. Burial will be in St.
    Matthew's cemetery.

    Notes:

    Doebler, Charles G., Wheatfield, was born in Germany in 1856, and came to America in 1967, with his parents and only brother. They settled in Niagara county and began farming, in which occupation Charles G. was reared. After following different occupations interspersed with farming, he finally went into a planing mill of the Export Lumber Company in 1882. He was subsequently employed with A. M. Dodge & County, and in 1888 formed a partnership with Mr. W. W. Robertson. (An outline of this business will be found in the article headed W. W. Robertson.) Mr. Doebler married Elizabeth Lang of Buffalo, and they have five children: Charles, Rosa, Alfred, Herman and Hulda. His parents were Louis and Dora Doebler, both deceased, as is also his brother William. referred to above. Mr. Doebler is a prominent Republican, and a trustee of St. Matthew's church.

    Mrs. Elizabeth Doebler, 78, wife of the late Charles G. Doebler, died yesterday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Rose Thielke, 276 Wheatfield street. Her death followed a brief illness. Born in Buffalo, Mrs. Doebler had resided in North Tonawanda the past 59 years. She was a member of St. Matthew's church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Thielke; a son, Martin C. of Tonawanda; nine grandchildren; a brother, Fred Lang of North Tonawanda, and three sisters, Mrs. Freda Indermauer of New London, Conn., Mrs. William VanNetter and Mrs. Cornelius Hanes of Buffalo. Rites will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Thielke residence. The Rev. Carl Frankenstein will officiate and interment will be in Elmlawn.

    NORTH TONAWANDA, Sept. 11 - Gottfried Wollenberg, 79, a resident of Hoffman's Station for the past 5 years, died last night at his home 402 Niagara Falls Boulevard, when he located six months ago. He was born in Germany and came to this country when nine years old, residing at Hoffman's Station. He retired as a farmer six months ago. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Wollenberg; one son, Bernard, Hoffman's Station; one daughter, Mrs. Elsie Knoll, of North Tonawanda; eight grandchildren; a brother, Martin, of this city; two sisters, Mrs. Henry Broecker and Miss Martha Wollenberg, both of this city. The funeral will be Friday at 1 pm from the home and at 2:30 from St. Paul's church. Interment will be in St. Paul's cemetery.

Y., she had resided in North Tonawanda the last 12 years. She was a member of the St. Matthew's Lutheran church, in Wheatfield street, and the Ladies' Aid society of the church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Knoell; a son. Bernhardt Wollenberg, of Hoffman's Station; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted from the Knoell residence Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. The Rev. Carl Frankenstein will officiate. Interment will be in St. Paul's cemetery.
