Notes: Larene (Rene) Ann Pieper (nee Hall), passed away September 7, 2023, just one month short of what would have been her 90th birthday. A lifelong resident of North Tonawanda, she is predeceased by her loving husband Robert (Skippy) Pieper, and her two beautiful daughters Deborah Flynn and Robin Washcovick, (James). She is survived by her children James (Kristine) Pieper, Scott (Barbara) Pieper, Thomas (Mary Lou) Pieper, Robert (Nancy) Pieper, and Kelly (Kevin) Ezzo. A sweet grandmother to Kevin, Robert, Aubrey, Kristen, Lindsay, Brett, Joshua, Matthew, Brandon, Stephanie, Zachary, and Nicholas, and who will remember her fondly for, among other things, a candy dish on every side table and hosting Christmas Eve. She was a great grandmother to 19 blessings. Rene was an employee and friend of Town Lanes Bowling Alley for 35 years, and passed the love of bowling onto her children. She enjoyed playing Bingo and being a member of the Red Hatters after moving from her home on Sweeney Street to Bishop Gibbons. Her new friends and neighbors were like sisters. She was an avid reader and kept her mind sharp with word puzzles. She enjoyed playing, and several times won, her fantasy football league. A wake is planned at Wattengel Funeral Home, 533 Meadow Drive, North Tonawanda on Saturday, September 16 from 1-3 p.m.
