    Miss Pope to Wed
    Robert Wagner
    The marriage of Miss Jo• Anne
    Pope, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L.
    W. Pope, Edgewood drive, Town of
    Niagara, to Mr. Robert Wagner, will
    take place this afternoon at 5 p.m.
    In the Presbyterian church. Military
    road. Town of Niagara. The Rev.
    William McFarland will officiate.
    Mr. Wagner is the son of Mr. John
    Wagner, Elsa place.
    The bride will be given in marriage
    by her father, and will be
    gowned in white organdy with satin
    underskirt. The fitted bodice will be
    fashioned in tucks, and ornamented
    with baby breath. Her shoulderlength
    lace veil will be held in place
    by a crown of lilies of the valley.
    Mrs. John Baker, sister of the
    bride and her matron of honor, will
    be attired in a rose-colored gown
    and will carry yellow roses. Miss
    Helen Wagner, sister of the bridegroom,
    will be bridesmaid, wearing
    a blue gown and carrying yellow
    roses.
    Best man is S/Sgt. George R.
    Lawrence. USAF, while ushering
    duties will be performed by Mr.
    Floyd Pope, brother of the bridegroom,
    and Sgt. Glen Cooper, United
    States Army.
    Mrs. Pope will wear a blue net
    dress with pink accessories, and a
    corsage of red and white roses. A
    dinner for members of the immediate
    families will follow the ceremony
    at the Pope home.
    At 8 o'clock this evening a reception
    will be held at the Farmhouse
    restaurant, Packard and Forter roads.
    Decorations will include a three-tiered
    white wedding cake and mixed
    spring flowers.

    For Gun Victim
    Funeral services will be held
    Saturday at the Lane Funeral
    Home for Lemuel W. Pope, 66,
    of the Town of Tonawanda, who
    died Wednesday (June 3, 1970)
    after he was shot at the Buffalo
    Pipe and Foundry Corp. plant
    in Tonawanda.
    Karl D. Knight, 31. of Buffalo
    is being held on first degree
    assault charges in the shooting
    of Roman Oolu, 47, who was
    wounded at the same plant
    Wednesday.
    Mr. Pope was a foreman at
    the foundry for 25 years and
    worked at Frontier Bronze Co.
    in Niagara Falls during World
    II. He was born in Georgia.
    He is survived by his widow,
    Mrs. Pearl V. Pope; three sons,
    Floyd W. Pope of this city and
    Thomas E. and James E. Pope,
    both in California; s i x
    daughters, Mrs. Joyce S. Baker
    of this city, Mrs.. Joe Anne
    Wagner of North Tonawanda,
    Mrs. Jeraldine Sutter in Kentucky,
    Mrs. Mary J. Sutter of
    Tonawanda and Mrs. Janet L.
    Steele and Mrs. Susan Horn,
    both in California.
    Also surviving are f i ve
    brothers, Grover C. Pope of
    Anniston, Ala., O.O. Pope of
    Tyler, Tex., Clyde Pope of
    Huntsvelle, Ala., J.G. Pope of
    Birmingham, Ala., and S.J.
    Pope of Seattle, Wash., and four
    sisters, Mrs. Kate Dempsey of
    Birmingham, Ala., Mrs. Mary
    LockLear of Buffalo, M r s .
    Helen McCollum of Huntsville
    and Mrs. Ruth Simmons, of
    Birmingham, Ala.
    He is also survived by 27
    6randchildren.
    Funeral services will be held
    at the Lane Funeral Hame
    Saturday at 1 p.mi The Rev.
    Kenneth Traxler of Wesley
    United Methodist Church will
    officiate.
    Burial will be in Memorial
    Park Cemetery.
    Friends may call today from
    2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
