Obituary of Eric M. Rohring
Eric M. “Rick” Rohring, age 70, of Ransomville passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at home under the care of Niagara Hospice. Rick was born on November 8, 1951, in Niagara Falls, NY. He is the son of the late Walter G. and the late Lorraine (Shortz) Rohring Jr. He graduated from Lew-Port CSD class of 1969. In December of 1969 he completed a vocational trade program as a service station auto mechanic. He married Charlene Shook on December 4, 1971. In 1982 Rick joined the Ironworkers apprenticeship program with the Ironworkers Union LOCAL # 9 of Niagara Falls, NY accomplishing 40 years of service. Rick owned and operated a 50-acre farm in Ransomville raising beef cattle and vegetable crops for 35 plus years with his wife.Surviving is his wife of 50 years, Charlene; his sisters, Carolyn Rohring, Bonnie Rohring and Karen Kobel; Nephews; Chris Burek, Eric Freberg, Jason Freberg, Shawn Tussing; Niece, Jennifer (Tim) Bagovich; Great Nephews, Andrew and Matthew Bagovich; a brother-in-law, William P. Shook and sister-in-law, Nancy Shook, also many other relatives and numerous friends.The family wishes to thank Niagara Hospice, special Thank You to nurses Jody and Molly and his private nurse and dear family friend Kathy Basile RN.A celebration of life will be held in the near future for immediate friends and family. WILSON, April 22.-Louis Rohring,
74 years old, died at the home of his
brother, William C. Rohring, on Lake
street, Saturday afternoon. Mr. Roh-
ring had been ill since last November
but was confined to his bed only one
week.
He was born at Axelshoff. Germany
in 1860 and came here In 1882.
With the exception of four years in
Pennsylvania and one year In Roches-
ter, he had spent his entire life in
this township. He was a farmer and
a member of St. Peter's Lutheran
church of North Ridge.
In 1886 he married Lena Rohring,
who died three years ago. He is sur-
vived by three sons, Edward, Walter,
and Howard, all of Wilson; ten grand-
children; one great grandchild; two
brothers, John C., of North East, Pa.,
and William C. of Wilson, at whose
home he died, and one sister. Mrs.
Hannah Schrader. of Lockport.
The funeral wlll be held Tuesday
afternoon at 1:30 from the William
C. Rohring home and at 2 o'clock
from St. Peter's church. Rev. John
P. Barkow will officiate and burial
will be in St. Peter's Lutheran ceme-
tery, North Ridge.
