    Kenmore, announces the engagement
    of her daughter, Jeanne
    Meyers to Norman Thiel, son of
    Mr. Charles Thiel. The wedding
    will take place February 14th.

    Williamsville who served as honor
    attendants at the anniversary
    couple's wedding, and also

    Virginia, Suzanne, Karin and
    James.
    The couple's anniversary is on
    St. Valentine's Day.

    The marriage of Miss Jeanne
    Ann Meyers, daughter of Mrs.
    Leigh Rumbold of Kenmore, and
    the late James A. Meyers, to Norman
    Thiele, son of Mr. Charles
    Thiele of Buffalo, took place in
    the North Tonawanda Church of
    Christ on Saturday afternoon, February
    14, at 4 o'clock, the Rev. J.
    B. Moffett officiating.
    The church was decorated with
    tall pedestal baskets of white
    gladioli, palms and white Cathedral
    candles.
    The bride wore a wheat colored
    suit, purple hat and light brown
    accessories, and a corsage of orchids.
    Miss Nancy Ross was maid
    of honor, and wore a ming green
    suit, with brown accessories, and
    a corsage of yellow rose buds.
    The bride's mother wore a two
    piece blue suit, with matching accessories
    and a corsage of gardenias.
    Mr. Donald Thorpe of Tonawanda
    was best man. Mrs. Karl
    Kiel played a half hour organ recital
    preceding the ceremony.
    A wedding dinner was served to
    thirty guests at the Delaware
    Hotel where the T-shaped table
    was decorated with daffodils,
    white tapers and a brides-cake
    which was adorned with a miniature

    bride and groom.
    After the ceremony the couple
    left for Elmira, where they are
    registered at the Mark Twain
    Hotel.
    Pre-nuptial parties in honor of
    the bride were a linen shower given
    by Miss Nancy Ross at her
    home on Delaware street; a towel
    shower by Mrs. Francis Harrison
    of Tremont street, Kenmore, and
    a variety shower by Miss Elizabeth
    Cotier of N. Marion street.
    After February 22 the couple
    will be at home in 271 Vander-
    vort street.

    THIEL - Charles Thiel, 79, of
    175 Morgan St., Tonawanda, died
    Sunday (Dec. 19, 1965) at North
    Town Nursing Home after a long vict'ory^lelbralion"
    illness. Born in Barker, Mr. Thiel
    had resided in Tonawanda for the
    past 45 years. He was employed
    by Bell Aircraft Corp. in 1953.
    Mr. Thiel is survived by six
    daughters, Mrs. Clifford (Dorothy)
    Hankinson of Tonawanda,
    Mrs. George (Rena) Freeh of
    Grand Island, Mrs. Maynard
    (Dene) Awaldt of Tonawanda,
    Mrs. Robert (Eleanor) Brown of
    Tonawanda, Miss Donna Jean
    Thiel of Daytona, Fla., and Mrs.
    Ernest (Gwen) Eichler of North
    Tonawanda; four sons, Lloyd of
    La Mesa, Calif., Norman of Kenmore,
    Maynard of Erie, Pa., and
    Dale of Camden, S. C. He also is
    survived by 20 grandchildren and
    16 great-grandchildren; one sister
    Mrs. Emma Burke of Medina;
    three brothers, William and John
    Thiel of Elmira, N.Y., and Gustave
    of Shelby, N.Y. Friends may
    call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Hilliard
    Funeral Home Inc., 147 Delaware
    St, Tonawanda, where
    services will be at 2:45 p.m.
    Tuesday. The Rev. Donald Gardner
    of Grove Street Christian
    Church will officiate. Interment
    at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, West
    Shelby, N. Y.

    Miss Helena Janke of Young street
    was hostess to a party of twenty
    guests last evening with Miss Marion
    J Hackbush as guest of honor.
    Luncheon was served. The table
    was decorated in pink and white with
    a flower basket filled with shaded
    sweet peas forming the centerpiece.
    The basket was presented to Miss
    Hackbush. The favors were corsage
    bouquets of sweet peas. Music and
    games were played, prizes being won
    by Miss Edna Goerss, Miss Dorthea
    Tyn Miss Irene Meyers, Miss Cecelia
    Tyn and Miss Marion Michaelson.

    Mies Welton Gives Variety Shower

    Miss Maude Welton of Wheat field
    street is entertaining with a variety
    shower this evening in honor of Miss
    Marion J. Hackbush, whose marriage
    to James A. Meyers will take place
    tomorrow evening' Covers will be
    laid for twelve at the luncheon which
    will follow the games and music of
    the evening. The table will be dec,
    orated in pink and white narcissus
    and pink rose buds being used.
