    (June 30, 1965) after
    suffering an apparent heart
    attack while driving his car
    which was then involved in
    a crash with an auto owned
    by the Tonawanda Distributing
    Co.
    He was born in the Town of
    Wheatfield and had l i v ed
    here for the last 53 years. He
    was employed by the Buffalo
    Bolt Co. for 55 years, retiring
    six years ago.
    Mr. Ellman was a member
    of St. Mark's Lutheran Church,
    the Luther Laymen's League
    and St. Mark's Senior Athletic
    Club.
    Survivors include his widow,
    the former Helena Zastrow;
    three sons, Ruben E. and Freibert
    E l l m a n , both of the-
    Tonawandas, and Alton H. Ellman,
    Erie, Pa.; a daughter,
    Mrs. William (Helen) Storey,
    this city; a sister, Mrs. Victor
    Haseley, Wheatfield, a n d a
    brother, Fed Ellman, this city;
    12 grandchildren and seven
    great-gandchildren.
    Friends may call from 2 to
    4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Frethold
    Funeral Home, where
    services will be conducted at
    2 p.m. Saturday, Rev. Lauren
    Shiley officiating. Burial will
    be in St. Mark's L u t h e r an

    ELLMAN - Helena A. (nee Zastrow) Ellman, 89, of North Tonawanda, Monday (March 12, 1979) at DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Ellman was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, the Ladies Guild and the Lutheran Service society. She wae the wife of the late Edward H. Ellman who died in June of 1965. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. William (Helen) Storey of North Tonawanda; three sons, Reuben (Bernice) Ellman and Bert (Dorothy) Ellman, both of the Tonawandas and Elton (Alice) Ellman of Florida; twelve grandchildren and eighteen greatgrandchildren. The family will receive friends at the Fretthold Funeral Home, Inc., 1241 Oliver St., at Ward Rd., North Tonawanda WEDNESDAY from 2:30 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Burial to take place Thursday at the convenience of the family. Friends are invited to a Memorial service to be held in St. Mark Lutheran Church at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, the Rev. Thomas K. Spahn will officiate. If so desired, memorials may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church.

    Doctor J.E. Helwig, coroner, will hold an inquest during the last part of this week into the death o Edward Hardy of Division street, who died from an electric shock at the American District Steam company plant last Saturday. The purpose of the inquest is to bring out the facts surrounding the death.

    At the conclusion of an autopsy performed upon the body late Saturday afternoon, the corner announced that death was produced by accidental electrocution. Dr. Helwig said that Hardy had been perfectly health, but that he evidently had a low resistance power to electricity.

    The funeral will be held at two o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the house, 359 Division street, and at 2:30 o'clock from Redeemer Lutheran church, Schenk street. Rev. H. G. Kleiner will officiate.

    The body will be placed ina vault at the Elmlawn cemetery to await the arrival of the oldest son, John, who is on his way home from Panama. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.

    Mrs. Amelia Zastro(sic),63 years old, wife of August Zastro of the Ward road at St. Johnsburg, died at home on Saturday night after a lingering illness. Mrs. Zastro was born in Germany and lived in the town of Wheatfield for thirty-one years. Besides her husband, four daughters, Mrs. Emma Holland, Mrs. Helen Ellman, Mrs. Freida Quester, and Miss Lottie Zastro, all of Wheatfield, and four sons, Frank Zastro of Niagara Falls, Herbert and Otto Zastro of North Tonawanda and August Zastro of St. Johnsburg, survive.
    The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon from the family home at 1:30 and a half hour later from the St. John's church at St. Johnsburg. Burial will be made in the St. Johnsburg cemetery

    August W. Gardei, 73 years old, died yesterday afternoon at his home at No. 79 Ward road after a long illness. Mr. Gardei was born in Germany and had lived in North Tonawanda for the past 36 years. He was employed by the street department of the city for many years. Surviving are a wife, a son, Arnold Gardei; five daughters, Mrs. Christian Engel; Mrs. Jacob Ossmann, Mrs. William Broecker, Mrs. Edward Hardy and Mrs. Charles Zimmerman, all of North Tonawanda, and one sister, mrs. Auguste Mercke of Germany. The funeral will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the late residence and a half an hour later from St. Paul's church on East Felton St. Rev. August Eberbach officiating. Burial will be in Sweeney Cemetery.
