Mrs. Dorothy E. Lawrence,
69, of 2697 Maple Ave.,
Newfane, died unexpectedly
Saturday at Inter - Community
Memorial Hospital, Newfane.
Mrs. Lawrence was born Nov.
28, 1901 in the Town of Newfane,
the daughter of Robert J. and
Metta Stratton Rutland.
She had lived in Williamsville
most of her life before moving
to Newfane in 1965. A seamstress
by trade, she had worked
for many years for Flora Hatch
in Williamsville.
Widow of William J.
Lawrence, survivors include a
daughter, Mrs. Allan (Joan)
Work of Tonawanda; a son,
Donald L. Bradley of Lockport;
three sisters, Mrs. Arthur
(Eugenia) Albright of Newfane,
Mrs. Edwin (Claire) Pouthier of
East Aurora, and Mrs. Joseph
(Louise) Pouthier of Orchard
Park; one brother, Clifton J.
Rutland of Buffalo; six grandchildren
and several nieces and
nephews.

Home, Inc., 2670 Main St.,
Newfane, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Prayers will be recited at
10:30 a.m. Tuesday, and a Mass
of the Resurrection will be
celebrated at 11 a.m. at St.
Bridget's R.C Church,
Newfane.
Memorials may be made to
St. Bridget's Church Building
Fund.

Newfane, July 15-The leading
social event of this week is the wedding
of Miss Dorothy Ellen Rutland,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs Robert Rutland
of Lincoln Court snd Leigh
Elton Bradley of Buffalo son of Mr.
and Mrs Leonard Bradley of Ransomvllle,
which will be solemnised
at bigh noon Saturday July 17th at
the Methodist church, Newfane, Rev.
Leland B. Henry officiating. A reception
will follow the ceremony at
the home of the bride's parents
Miss Rutland has chosen as maid
of honor her sister Miss Gene Rutland,
bridesmaids her sister Miss
Claire E. Rutland, her cousin Miss
Grace K. Rutland, and the Misses
Pearle A. Denton of Barker and Viols
E French, of Rochester. Little Wilnia
Rutland, daughter of Mr. snd
Mrs. Richard Rutland, will be the
flower girl, and Miss Louise Rutland,
a sister will play the wedding march.
Among the delightful pre-nuptlal
events for Miss Rutland was a variety
shower'given by the Rebeksh
lodge of Wilson last week st tha
home of Mr. and Mrs. Elton Armstrong
of that place. A musical by
Mrs. DeNeau, pianist. Miss Frances
Schoul and Mrs William Lasher,
vocalists, and Miss Louise Rutland,
pianist Afterwards games and contest
wa» enjoyed, and prises were
awarded and presented to the bride
elect.
Refreshments were served from a
table decorated with pink and white
roses, covers were laid for 26.
Much Feted Bride Blect.
Monday night Miss -Dorothy Rutland
was honor guest at a kitchen
shower, at the home of her cousin
Miss Grace Rutland of Newfane.
Dinner was served from a table
centered with a bowl of pink roses,
while pink and white was carried out
in detail about the room, and from
the center of the ceiling to the ends
of the table were pink and white
ribbons caught with roses, and shad-
ed with tall lighted candles of vivid
pink. The guests favors were pink,
tied with white and the honor guest's
was of white fashened with orange
blossoms.
The Misses Pearle Denton of Barker
and Miss Viola French entertain
for Miss Rutland at a variety shower
tonight with an "Indian party," on
the beach. There will be a glowing
camp fire, a program of out door
sports.
Miss Gene Rutland win entertain
In honor of her sister Miss Dorothy
Rutland, and the bridal party on Friday
at the Tuscarora Park club at
Wilson. Luncheon will be served from
small tables surrounding the honor
guests table, two being seated at
each table. Pink roses snd ferns will
be used as decorations Following
there will be a dancing reception,
with music by Miss Francis Crossman,
Harold Albright and Norman
Thielk.
