GASPORT - Vernon F.
Childs, 68, of 8805 Chestnut
Ridge Road, died unexpectedly
Thursday (January 22, 1970) at
his home of an apparent heart
attack.
The son of Clifford D. and
Elizabeth. (Danser) Childs, he
was born March 22, 1901, in the
Town of Clarence.
He was an e q u i p m e nt
operator for the Town of
Royalton for 20 years and
retired from Smith's Green
house, Town of Hartland, in
1966.
Survivors include his wife, the
former Florence Stahl; two
sons, Richard of Gasport and
Allen Childs of Middleport; a
daughter, Mrs. Duane (Eleanor)
Kleutts of Lockport and three
brothers, Harold of Gasport,
Lloyd of North Tonawanda and
Perry Childs of Middleport.
Also surviving are eight
grandchildren, " two g r e a t,
grandchildren, and s e v e r al
nieces and nephews.

Florence A. Childs, 77, of
Gasport, died today at Medina
Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Childs, the wife of the
late Vernon F. Childs, was born
Aug. 12, 1901, in the Town of
Royalton. She was the daughter
of Rudolph and Bertha Tittier
Stahl.
She was a homemaker and
had lived to the area all of her
life.
She was a member of
Royalton Center Methodist
Church and the United
M e t h o d i s t Women's
Association.
Surviving are two son.,
Richard of Gasport and Allen of
Middleport; a daughter, Mrs.;
Duane (Eleanor) Klutts of
Lockport; eight grandchildren
and five great-grandchildren; a
brother, Elwood Stahl of
Middleport; two sisters, Mrs.
Leslie (Elsie) Hodgins of Lockport
and Mrs. Frank (Ruth)
Hemberger of Newtane, and
several niece, and nephews.

DEATH OF MRS. STAHL
MIDDLEPORT, May 24 - Mrs August Stahl. age 78 years, died Saturday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Albert Fiertz, east of the village on the State road. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Fiertz, Mrs. August Schrader of Middleport, Mrs. John Schrader of Medina, Mrs. Lewis Klino of the Ridge road, three sons Charles and John Stahl at Middleport and Rudolph Stahl of Royalton Center. two sisters, one at Wolcottsville and one at the Ridge. The funeral will be held tomorrow at 2 o'clock, new time, from the Fiertz home. Burial at Mountain Ridge cemetery.
