LOCKPORT — Roy Paul LaMarca, 85, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away, peacefully, on Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at Niagara Hospice in Lockport, NY, following a long illness with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, and a brief battle with cancer. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late James and Pauline (Catania) LaMarca. Roy was currently a resident of the CARE unit at Northgate Manor in North Tonawanda, NY.

Roy graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1944 and during World War II served in the United States Army Air Corps from December 6, 1943, until his honorable discharge on July 9, 1946. He was a charter member of the Italian Sons and Daughters of America (I.S.D.A.) Cataract Lodge 240 in Niagara Falls and actively participated in many functions, including that of officeholder. Until becoming ill, he and his wife of 46 years, Nora (Saverino) LaMarca, enjoyed traveling and for several years spent the worst of the winter months in Las Vegas, NV.
