    OCALA, FL — Donald Toenniessen, age 89, of Ocala, FL, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2013. He was born in Wilson, NY on February 14, 1924. Donald served in the US Army during WWII. He met and married his beloved wife, Helen Toenniessen, to whom he was married for over 50 years. Donald owned and operated "Don's Grocery" in Royalton Center, NY, before retiring to Florida. Donald was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Ocala. In New York he was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Gasport.

    He is survived by his children, Karen (Gary) Gardner of Gasport, NY, Robert (Karen) Schultz of Bradenton, FL, Peter (Michelle) Toenniessen of Albion, NY, Molly McIntyre of Sebastian, FL, Richard (Primrose) Schultz of Ocala, FL, and Kenneth (Tara) Toenniessen of Lockport, NY. Donald is also survived by his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Toenniessen; children, Ronald C. Schultz, PhD, Raymond Toenniessen, John Toenniessen and Randall Schultz.

    A visitation will be held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala, FL on Monday, July 29, 2013, from 5-7 PM. A funeral service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 4001 NE 25th Ave., Ocala, FL on Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at 10 AM. Burial will take place at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL on Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at 12:30 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Marion County, PO Box 4860, Ocala, FL 34478.

    received by relatives of the
    death of a former resident
    here, Mrs. Iva Toenniessen,
    68, of Orlando, Fla., who died
    Friday (July 23, 1965) in an
    Orlando hospital.
    Mrs. Toenniessen and her
    husband, Raymond F. Toenniessen,
    lived in Wilson until
    moving to Orlando five years
    ago.
    Besides her husband, she
    is survived by two daughters,
    Mrs. Wayne Schuman, Wilson,
    and Mrs. Donna S c h u l t z,
    Lakeland, Fla.; a son, Donald
    T. Toenniessen, Wilson; four
    sisters, Mrs. Alfred Miller
    and Mrs. Charles F e n d e r,
    both of E a s t Aurora, Mrs.
    Millard Wilson, Perry, and
    Mrs. Arthur Lockwood, Orlando;
    two brothers, Edward
    Nettinger, East Aurora, and
    Marvin Nettinger, Erie, Pa.,
    and ten grandchildren and
    three great-grandchildren.
    Burial will be in Orlando.

    B r a i l e y - r o a d was s o l e m n i z e d at the
    local Methodist parsonage Saturday
    a f t e r n o o n at three o'clock. Rev.. H .
    Fairburn officiiting. The bride was
    gowned in a blue traveling suit and
    carried bride's roses. She was attended
    by M i s s Mabel T o enniessen, sister
    of the g r o om as maid of honor and
    Fred Volla acted a s best man. An el-
    aborate wedding dinner was served at
    the home of the groom's p a r e n t s imme-
    d i a t e l y following the ceremony, only
    the immediate families of t h e c o n t r a c t
    ing parties being present. T h e couple
    will make their home in B u f f a l o after
    a short wedding journey.

    Toenniessen, a lifelong resident of
    this community, died yesterday af-
    ternoon at the family home in the
    Braily road, after a long period
    of ill health.
    Mrs. Toenniessen was born in
    Wilson, a daughter of the late
    William and Minnie Kruger, pioneer
    settlers She was a member
    of the North Ridge Lutheran church
    and in former years was active
    in its organizations.
    .Mrs ' Toenniessen is survived by
    her husband. Fred Toenniessen.

    Lutheran church at North Ridge,
