    NORTH TONAWANDA -
    Frederick J. Rhodes, 95. of
    221 Wheatfield St., a former
    Niagara County supervisor
    and city alderman, died today
    (April 22, 1961) at the Odd Fellows
    Home, Lockport.
    Born in Wolcottsville, Mr.
    Rhodes resided jn this city
    for 65 years. He lived at the
    IOOF home for the last 11
    years.
    employed as a lever man by
    Mr. Rhodes formerly was
    the New York Central Rail-
    road, retiring in 1933. He was
    a member of Electric City
    Lodge No. 663, IOOF, and of
    the Order of Railroad Tele-
    graphers.
    A former tax collector in
    the Town of Wheatfield (1895-
    96) he served as 5th Ward
    alderman from 1901-07 and as
    supervisor from 1911-23.
    His wife, Augusta Bennin,
    died in 1934.
    Surviving are four daugh-
    ters, Mrs. Barbara Hoffmaster,
    Akron, Ohio, Mrs. C. C. Perry
    and Mrs. Alfred Jacobsen,
    both of Orlando, Fla.; and
    Mrs. Donald DeMarce, Palo
    Alto, Calif.; five sons, Fre-
    erick W. Rhodes, Kenmore,
    Elmer C. Rhodes, Orlando,
    Fla., Walter G. Rhodes, Wash-
    ington, D. C., Edward H.
    Rhodes, Beaumont, Tex., and
    Harold R. Rhodes, this city;
    a brother, Charles Rhodes,
    North Rose, N.Y.; 13 grand-
    children and 15 great grand-
    children.
    Services will be conducted
    by Rev. Noel V. Blackenship
    of Central Church of Christ
    at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the
    Wattengell Funeral Home.
    Burial will be in Friedens
    Cemetery.

    Word was received today of the
    death of Mrs. Augusta Rhodes, a
    former resident of North Tonawan-
    da, at her winter home in Or-
    lando, Fla., yesterday. Death was
    sudden. The body will be beought
    to North Tonawanda for burial.
    Mrs. Rhodes is survived by a
    husband, Fred J. Rhodes; three
    daughters, Mrs. C. C. Perry and
    Mrs. Wilmer Pfanner, Orlando, and
    Mrs. Donald DeMarce, Kenmore,
    and a son, Harold R. Rhodes,
    North Tonawanda.

    Word was received here by Mrs
    John Kiphuth of Young street, an-
    nouncing the death of her father, Mr.
    Herman Bennin, or Orlando, Florida,
    after a lingering illness. He was for
    many years a well known and highly
    respected business man of Niagara
    County. His funeral was largely attend-
    ed and interment took place at the Or-
    lando cemetery.
