    TONAWANDA-Ernest L. Vigrass Sr., 95, of 16
    Park Ave., died Sunday (April 14, 1968) in his home
    after a long illness.
    Bom in Staffordshire, England,
    he resided here most of
    his life.
    He served as justice of, the
    peace here for 20 years,, retiring
    about 25 years ago. He was
    a member of St. Mark's Episcopal
    Church and a life member
    of the Knights of Pythias.
    He was the husband of the
    former Emma Romanowski,
    who died in 1958.
    Survivors include four sons,
    Ernest, Arthur and Wilbert,
    of this city, and Robert of Newfane;
    four daughters, Mrs.
    George (Beatrice) Bacon, Mrs.
    Arthur (Alice) Ekins, Mrs. Wallace
    (Emma) Jaenecke, all of
    this city, and Mrs. Samuel
    (Olive) Horan of Lockport; 23
    grandchildren and 33 greatgrandchildren.
    Funeral services will be conducted
    at 1 p.m. Wednesday at
    the Roth Funeral Home by the
    Rev. Canon Alexander Corti.
    Burial will be in White Chapel
    Memorial Park.

    Park Ave. died Sunday (March 16,
    1958) in Kenmore Mercy Hospital
    after several months illness.
    A native of this city, she war
    a member of St. Mark's Episcopal
    Church.
    She is survived by her husband,
    Ernest L. Vigrass, five daughters,
    Mrs. George Bacon, Mrs. Harold
    Voisinet, Mrs. Athur Ekins and
    Mrs. Wallace. Jaenecke, all of this
    city, and Mrs. Samuel Horan,
    Lockport; four sons, Ernest Vigrass
    Jr.. Arthur Wilbert and Robert
    Vigrass, all of this city; 22 grandchildren
    and 13 great grandchildren.
    The Rev. Alexander J. Corti
    will conduct services at 2 p.m.
    Wednesday at the John O. Roth
    Funeral Home. Burial will be in
    White Chapel Memorial Park.

    Mr. and Mrs. Ernest L. Vigrass
    of 16 Park Ave. will celebrate
    their golden wedding anniversary,
    tomorrow evening, with a garden
    party at their home. They were
    married in North Tonawanda Sept.
    6 1899 by the Rev. Walter Lord
    and have lived in the Tonawandas
    most of their lives. The Rev. Lord
    will attend the celebration.
    Mr. Vigrass, who retired from
    business three years ago, waa
    born in England and came to Canada
    at the age of one. Later he
    moved to North Tonawanda. Mrs.
    Vigrass, 70, the former Emma
    Romanowsky, was born in Tonawanda.
    Mr. and Mrs. Vigrass are the
    parents of four sons, Ernest Arthur,
    Wilbert, Robert and five
    daughters, Mrs. George Bacon,
    Mrs. Harold Voisinet, Mrs. Arthur
    Ekins, Mrs. Samuel and Mrs.
    Wallace Jaenecke. They have 16
    grandchildren and four great
    grandchildren.

    August C. Jaenecke, 89, of 107 Zimmerman street, a life-long resident and a member of the St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran church, died this morning at his home after a prolonged illness. He is survived by two sons, Julius and Arnold of North Tonawanda; two daughters, Mrs. Rose Kaufmann of North Tonawanda and Mrs. O. F. Gentzke of Tonawanda; 19 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, a brother, William Jaenecke of North Tonawanda, and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Hake of Alden, Mrs. Elizabeth Kopp of Ransomville and Mrs. Anna Goltz of North Tonawanda. Two of the grandsons, Pvt. Norman Jaenecke of the U. S. Army and Pvt. Otto Gentzke of the U. S. Marines, are serving with the armed forces. Rites will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the residence. The Rev. Carl Frankenstein will officiate. Burial will be in St. Matthew's cemetery.

    Former Resident Dies After Brief Illness
    Stricken with cerebral hemorrhage, William F. Boening, 83, of the Lockport road, town of Pendleton, died Saturday noon in the DeGraff Memorial hospital after a brief illness. He was a resident of North Tonawanda residing in the Martinsville section of the city. Mr. Boening is survived by a son, A. W. Boening of Toledo, O.; three daughters, Mrs. William F. Jenecke of North Tonawanda, Mrs. E. J. LaPorte of Gardenville and Mrs. G. F. Ziehl of the town of Pendleton, and seven grandchildren. Funeral services were to be held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Wattengel Funeral Home, 307 Oliver street. The Rev. T. J. Berner officiated and interment was in St. Martin's cemetery. The services were private.
