Obituary of Peter Hallows Sr.
San Juan, TX/Lockport, NY - Peter J. Hallows Sr., 78, passed December 27, 2018, at his home in San Juan, Texas. He was born April 26, 1940, in North Tonawanda, NY, the son of John Hallows and Louis Smith Hallows.
Pete graduated from North Tonawanda Senior High, Class of 1958. Following graduation, he worked at Budweys Grocery from 1956-1958 when he then joined the United States Air Force where he served in the medical field from 1959-1962, from 1963-1982 he worked for Fleischman's as an office manager, and from 1983-2016 he worked as Traffic Manager at Lackawanna Products Inc.
Peter enjoyed Country and Gospel music, puzzles, watching and attending sports games, bowling, traveling, hunting, and most of all reading. He was a past member of the Niagara Frontier Coin Club.
Peter is predeceased by his father, John Hallows; mother, Lois Hallows McNulty; stepfather, Clair (Mack) McNulty; Joanne Huey; Carole Hallows; and stepdaughter, Tonya Scarborough.
Surviving him, in addition to his wife, Rose Hallows, are his sisters, Judy (Jim) Oubre of Orchard Park, NY, Penny (George) Stitt of Niagara Falls, NY, and Barb (Ken) Schmid of Depew, NY; his children, Peter Hallows Jr. of Wilson, NY, Art (Robin) Hallows of Medina, NY, Jerry (Patti) Harvey of North Tonawanda, NY, Mike (Nancy) Hallows of Appleton, NY, Sue (Drew) Welke of Central Square, NY, John (Robin) Hallows of Middleport, NY, and Brian (Heather) Hallows of Albion, NY; stepchildren, Destry (Lisa) Gillette of Aurora, CO, Melissa Gillette of Salamanca, NY, and Brenda Mailloux of Norfolk, NE. Pete was a proud grandfather of 29 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.
A service will be held in New York in June of 2019.

March 7 in St. Mark's Episcopal
Church.
The Rev,. Alexander Corti performed
the double ring ceremony
before an altar enhanced with
white snapdragons and chrysanthemums.
White chrysanthemums
tied with satin ribbons marked
the family pews.
The bride's gown of white Chantilly
lace was designed with a
stand-up collar, long sleeves and
a tulle ruffled skirt with a fanshaped
train. Her fingertip veil of
tulle was fastened to a jeweled
queen's crown. She carried a
heart shaped bouquet of white
sweetheart roses and lilies of the
valley centered with an orchid.
She was given in marriage by her
father.
Miss Penny Hallows, the bride-
groom's sister was maid of honor
wearing a floor length pink taf-
feta dress complemented with
matching hat and gloves of net.
Wearing identically fashioned
costumes were the bridesmaids;
Miss Jean King, in yellow; Miss
Judith Hallows, the bridegroom's
sister, in green and Miss Sally
Budwey, in orchid.
The flower girl, Kathleen Vi-
grass, the bride's niece, wore a
blue taffeta frock with net hat
and gloves. all attendants car-
ried baskets of mixed flowers.
Thomas LeBar was best man.
James Vigrass, the bride's brother,
Dewey Bush, the bridegroom's
cousin, and Ernest Vigrass, the
bride's cousin, were ushers. Kenneth
Vigrass, the bride's brother
was ring bearer.
Mrs. Vigrass wore a pink lace
sheath dress with matching shoes
and white accessories. A corsage
of white roses accented her costume.
Mrs. Hallows wore a blue
satin sheath dress with matching
accessories and a corsage of red
roses.
A reception was given in Adams
Fire Hall.
Mr. and Mrs. Hallows left for
Biloxi, Miss, where the bridegroom
is stationed at Keesler Air
Force Base. Mrs. Hallows wore a
gray flannel suit with pink accessories.
They will be at home in
420 East Water St., Biloxi.
