    ACKERMAN - Leona Age 91, of the City of Tonawanda, November 3, 2016, at her residence, under the care of Hospice, daughter of the late Alvin and Louise (nee Dettmer) Ackerman; sister of the late Helen Ackerman, Alvina Wittkopp and Walter Ackerman; Leona is survived by many nieces, nephews and great, great-great and great-great-great-nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Monday from 3-7 PM at JOHN O. ROTH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 25 William St. (between Morgan & Broad Sts.) in Tonawanda. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 11 AM in Immanuel Lutheran Church, 107 Scott St. (corner of William St.) in Tonawanda. Everyone welcome. Burial will be in Elmlawn Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church or to Hospice Buffalo. Leona was a devoted life long and very active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and was also an active woodworker. She had been employed by Battenfeld - Grease & Oil Co. in North Tonawanda for many years.

    after an illness of several months.
    He was born in the Town
    of Amherst, and lived in this
    area for many years. He
    formerly was employed by
    the city in the Public Works
    Department, retiring 17 years
    ago. He was a member of
    Immanuel Lutheran Church,
    and a life member -of the
    Delaware Hose Co.
    He is survived by his wife
    the former Louise Dettmer;
    a son. Walter E. Ackerman-,
    two daughters. Mrs. Edward
    (Alvina) Wittkopp, and Miss
    Leona Ackerman, all of this
    city; a sister, Mrs. John
    Frezhette of .Oscoda, Mich.;
    eight grandchildren and 12
    great-grandchildren.
    Friends may call until noon
    Sunday at the Roth Funeral
    Home where a service will
    be conducted at 1:15 p.m.
    Sunday in Immanuel Lutheran
    Church. Hie Rev. Paul W.
    Czmanske will officiate. Burial
    will be in Elmlawn Cemetery.
