    Charles W. Ackerman, 79, of 175
    Keil St. died yesterday afternoon
    in DeGraff Memorial Hospital
    after a long illness. A native of the
    Town of Amherst, he had lived in
    North Tonawanda most of his life.
    As a partner of Louis T. Fick, a
    former North Tonawanda mayor,
    he operated a flour mill at Oliver
    and Mechanic Sts. for 50 years. He
    retired a few years ago.
    Mr. Ackerman was a charter
    member of the Grace Evangelical
    Lutheran Church at Payne Ave.
    and Robinson St. He was a member
    of Electric City Lodge, IOOF.
    Had he lived until Oct. 24, he
    and his surviving wife, Emma,
    would have celebrated their 55th
    wedding anniversary.
    Besides his wife, he is survived
    by four daughters, Mrs. Siegfried
    Gromm, Miss Mildred Ackerman,
    Mrs. Clarence L. Braun and Mrs.
    August Wyrobeck, all of North
    Tonawanda; three sons, Arthur C.
    and I. Warren Ackerman of the
    Tonawandas and Edgar H. Acker-
    man of Kenmore; nine grand-
    children, five great grandchildren, Jane Casey
    two brothers, Alvin Ackerman of
    Tonawanda and Eugene of Hall's
    Falls, Ont., and a sister, Mrs. John
    B. Frechette of Detroit.
    Funeral services will be held tomorrow
    at 2:30 in the Wattengel
    Funeral Home, 307 Oliver St. The
    Rev. Hermann B. Miller and
    Rev, Clarence L. Eraun will of-
    ficiate and interment will be in
    Elmlawn Cemetery.

    she was a lifelong resident of
    North Tonawanda. She is survived
    by four daughters, Mrs. Sigfried
    Noreenj Gromm, Miss Mildred Ackerman,
    Mrs. August Robek, all of North
    Tonawanda, and Mrs. Clarence L.
    Braun of Silver Creek; three sons,
    Arthur C. and I. Warren of Tona-
    wanda, and Edgar H. of Kenmore;
    a sister, Mrs. Hulda Selover of
    Tonawanda; nine grand and several

    great-grandchildren. She was a
    charter member of Grace Lutheran
    Church and the Ladies Aid of the
    church. Funeral services were at
    2 p.m. today in the Wattengel Funeral
    Home, 307 Oliver St., North
    Tonawanda. The Rev. Hermann B.
    Miller and the Rev. Clarence L.
    Braun officiated. Burial was in
    Elmlawn Cemetery
