    he was a graduate of Tonawanda
    High School (1958). He
    was a son of the late Mary Edna
    Ackerman. Survivors include his
    wife, Patricia; a son, Larry;
    a daughter, Lorraine; his father,
    Walter E. Ackerman of Tonawan-
    da, his grandparents, Mr. and
    Mrs. Alvin Ackerman of Tonawanda.
    and his sister, Mrs. Albert
    Wierling Jr. of Cheektowaga.

    Ackerman, 56, of 139 Koh-
    ler St., Tonawanda, died unex-
    pectedly Friday (Dec. 24, 1965)
    in Summerville, S.C. A native of
    Buffalo, she had been a resident

    of Tonawanda 30 years. A graduate
    of Mt Mercy Academy, she
    had been employed at the Federal
    Reserve Bank of Buffalo tor
    many years and was a member
    of St. Francis of Assisi Church.
    She was the mother of the late
    Sgt. Richard A. Ackerman and
    sister of the late James Ward.
    Survivors include her husband,
    Walter E. Ackerman; a daughter,
    Mrs. Albert W. Wierling Jr. of
    Cheektowaga; a sister, Mrs. Arthur
    J. Stephan of Buffalo; four
    brothers, Richard Ward of Wanakah,
    Martin and Joseph Ward of
    Buffalo and Thomas Ward of Los
    Angeles, Calif.; four grandchil-
    dren, and several nieces and
    nephews. Friends may call at
    the John O. Roth Funeral Home,
    Morgan and William Streets, Ton-
    awanda,
    after 6 p.m. Tuesday,
    where prayers wfll be said at
    9:30 a.m„ Thursday, followed at
    10 a.m. by a Requiem Mass in
    St. Francis of Assisi Church. The
    Rev. Norman J. Lux will officiate.
    Burial in Mt Calvary Cemetery.

    Grove St., died Thursday (April 27. 1967) at his home
    after an illness of several months.
    He was born in the Town
    of Amherst, and lived in this
    area for many years. He
    formerly was employed by
    the city in the Public Works
    Department, retiring 17 years
    ago. He was a member of
    Immanuel Lutheran Church,
    and a life member -of the
    Delaware Hose Co.
    He is survived by his wife
    the former Louise Dettmer;
    a son. Walter E. Ackerman-,
    two daughters. Mrs. Edward
    (Alvina) Wittkopp, and Miss
    Leona Ackerman, all of this
    city; a sister, Mrs. John
    Frezhette of .Oscoda, Mich.;
    eight grandchildren and 12
    great-grandchildren.
    Friends may call until noon
    Sunday at the Roth Funeral
    Home where a service will
    be conducted at 1:15 p.m.
    Sunday in Immanuel Lutheran
    Church. Hie Rev. Paul W.
    Czmanske will officiate. Burial
    will be in Elmlawn Cemetery.

    She is survived by two
    daughters. Miss Leona Ackerman
    and Mrs. Alvina Wittkopp
