    NOVOTNY - Ruth E. Age 95 of the City of Tonawanda, peacefully September 22, 2017. Daughter of the late Victor and Rose (nee Brandtner) Novotny; loving sister of Marie E. Novotny and the late Victoria (late Alfred) Strehlow, Henry "Vic", Ralph F. (late Virginia) and Walter "Spin" (late Marjorie) Novotny; dearest aunt of Clifford Strehlow, Holly Yager, Nina Konopasek, John Novotny, Mary Novotny, Linda Lynch, the late Penelope S. Strehlow, and Michael Novotny; 13 great-nieces and nephews and 12 great-great-nieces and nephews. Also survived by many loving and close friends. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at JOHN O. ROTH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 25 William St. (between Morgan and Broad Sts.) in Tonawanda. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Wednesday in Immanuel Lutheran Church, 107 Scott St. (corner of William St.) in Tonawanda. Everyone welcome. Please assemble at the church. Burial will be in Elmlawn Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined, memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church. Ruth had been employed by the John O. Roth Funeral Home for 36 years in various capacities, retiring in 1986. She had a very close and special relationship with the family of John and Jane Roth throughout the many years of her life. Ruth was a 1941 graduate of Tonawanda High School. Throughout her life, she loved to cook and bake, and also loved to knit and was a talented cross-stitcher. She was a life member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School for over 60 years, and was a member of the Senior Choir and the church Altar Guild.
