Beloved husband of Dorettia (nee Heywang) Grawe for 54 years; father of Nelwyn (Jeffrey) Adams of Rochester, Ronald (Christine) Grawe of Lewiston and Donald (Karen) Grawe of Venice, CA; grandfather of seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; brother of Marie Reich of Tonawanda and the late Mildred Janowsky, Dorothy Alliger, Allen and Herman Grawe; brother-in-law of Hilda Grawe of Wheatfield; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mr. Grawe was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and Tonawanda American Legion Post #264. As a carpenter working for Linwood Builders he built many homes in North Tonawanda and had also for the Maintenance Department of Kenmore Mercy Hospital. Friends may call at the FRETTHOLD FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1 PM from St. John Lutheran Church (Ward Rd. and Niagara Falls Blvd.) Interment in St. John Lutheran Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.

    Dorettia R. (Heywang) Grawe, Age 80 of North Tonawanda, Monday, March 24, 2003 at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late William B. Grawe; dear mother of Nelwyn (Jeffrey) Adams of Rochester, NY, Ronald (Christine) Grawe of Lewiston, and Donald (Karen) Grawe of Venice, CA; grandmother of Kelley, Amee, Melinda, Jerry, Shannon, Ian and Keenan; great-grandmother of 14 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law of Marie Reich of Tonawanda and Hilda Grawe of the Town of Wheatfield; aunt of many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Grawe was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. She was an elementary school teacher at St. John Lutheran School for 25 years and was also a teacher at St. Matthew Lutheran School. Friends may call at FRETTHOLD FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.     Herman J. Grawe, 61, of 65 Fredericka St. died suddenly Saturday afternoon while at work at the Buffalo Bolt Company, Division of Buffalo-Eclipse Corporation. Mr. Grawe was born in Johnsburg and had been a resident of North Tonawanda for the past 37 years. He is survived by his wife, Margaret, nee Riedel. He was the father of Mrs. Earl Janowsky, Allan, William, Mrs. Carlton Reitch, Herman Jr. and Mrs. Frank Alliger III; brother of Edward of Johnsburg, George of Nashville, Philippineslip, Benjamin and Walter of North Tonawanda, Mrs. Charles Neuman and Mrs. Ruth Pieper. Ten grandchildren also survive. Services will be Tuesday in the family residence at 2 P.M. and in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church at 2:30 P.M. The Rev. Paul H. Fretthold will officiate. Interment will be in St. Mark’s Lutheran Cemetery.

    GRAWE – Margaret A. Grawe, 88, of North Tonawanda, Monday (September 5, 1983) at DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Mrs. Grawe was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and St. Mark’s Seniors. She was the wife of the late Herman J. Grawe who died in 1952 and mother of the late Herman and Allan Grawe.
    She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Earl (Mildred) Janowsky of North Tonawanda, Mrs. Marie Reich of Tonawanda and Mrs. Frank (Dorothy) Alliger of Florida; a son, William (Doretta) Grawe of North Tonawanda; twelve grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a sister, Miss Mary Riedel of the Town of Wheatfield and many nieces and nephews.
    Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home, Inc., 1241 Oliver St., at Ward Rd., North Tonawanda Tuesday from 7 to 9 P.M., and Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Thursday at 1 P.M., the Rev. Thomas K. Spahn will officiate. Interment in St. Mark Lutheran Cemetery. If so desired, memorials may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church.
