Louise M. Mauro, 89, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully at Niagara Hospice on Saturday, November 7, 2020. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Bertha (Dionisio) Alcuri.
Louise was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area attending local schools. In her younger years she worked at Carborundum Globar. She enjoyed cooking, baking, going to the Casino and taking care of her family, especially her grandchildren.
Louise is survived by her husband, Joseph C. Mauro; two daughters Clara (David) Hughes and Tina (James) DeDario; two grandchildren, Michael (Dominika Tanianis) Rodriguez, Sarah (Marques) Kidd; three great-grandchildren, Maximilian Rodriguez, Bryson and Sofia Kidd; one sister Patricia (Louis) Sciarrino; 14 nieces and nephews, as well as several great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, and cousins. She was predeceased by three sisters and one brother, Dawn Duncan, Jacqueline (late Mario) Matarese, Sheila (late Daniel) Raymond and Leo (late Barbara) Alcuri.
There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend Louise’s funeral services on Thursday, November 12 at 11:00 A.M. in St. Joseph’s Cemetery Mausoleum, 3806 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY.
Mrs. Mauro’s family would like to thank Niagara Hospice, Dr. Maria Komin, the Visiting Nurse Association of Western New York, especially Janelle Little, Patty Norris, her Aides Mary DiPasquale and Connie Nardello, who lovingly cared for her. We also would like to thank our family and friends for their support especially her sister and brother-in-law Patricia and Louis Sciarrino and longtime friends, Sam and Sue Floro and family.

The Rev. Emil Zupa officiated
at the ceremony which took place
at 9:45 o'clock this morning, when
Mrs. Florence Demorest sang "Ave
Maria,"* and "Panis Angelicus."
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride wore a bridal gown of
lace, tulle and satin which was accented
with a bateau neckline edged
with lace motifs, and seed
pearls. 'The fitted bodice had long,
tapering sleeves, and the skirt was
fully gathered with inserts of lace.
A cathedral-length veil of double
illusion 'was attached to a small
starched lace helmet ornamented
with iridescent sequins. She carried
a bouquet of while roses and
pompons.
The bridal attendants wore nylon
gowns with strapless bodices
enhanced with shirring and pleating.
The skirts were permanently
pleated and they wore matching
jackets and pixie hats of horsehair.
Miss Emily M. Fusillo, maid of
honor, wore a pink gown and carried
a .colonial bouquet of pink
and blue carnations and pompons.
Miss Theresa H. Poritecorvo and
Miss Betty Ann Cicchello wore
cotillion blue gowns and carried
colonial bouquets of blue and pink
carnations and pompons.
Maria Colucci, cousin of the
bride, as junior bridesmaid, was
dressed in pink.
The wedding breakfast was held
immediately after the ceremony
at the Armenian Community Center
where a reception is being held
this evening from 6 to 10 o'clock.
The bride's table will be laid with
a Madeira linen cloth, and silver
candelabra and sweet peas will
enchance the four-tiered wedding
cake.
The mother of the bride will
receive in a navy blue crepe, dress
with red accessories.
Mrs. Mauro will don a pink
silk shantung suit with navy and
white accessories and a white orchid
corsage when she departs on
their wedding trip to the Thousand
Islands and the New England
States.
The couple will reside at. 1512
Ashland Ave.
