    Oakfleld, April 17.-The funeral of
    Walter E. Allen, formerly of Oakfleld,
    who died on Thursday In Waterloo,
    la., will be held from the home of his
    sister, Miss Retta Allen of the Hatavia-
    Oakfleld townllne road at 2 p. m.
    tomorrow, the Rev. G. M. Harris officiating,
    assisted by the Rev. C. C.
    Gove. The burial Services in t h e ('ary
    cemetery in this village will be conducted
    by Batavla Lodge, No. 197, I.
    O.O.F., and members of the Oakfleld
    I.O.Q.F. Lodge will attend in a body.
    Mr. Allen, Who died In a Waterloo
    hospital after a week's illness, was
    born in Oakfleld on June 7, 1857, being
    a son of the late Mr. and Mrs,
    Seneca Allen. Besides his sister. Miss
    Retta Allen, he Is survived by a son,
    Clement E. Allen, and a daughter,
    Mrs. William Welch, both of Oakfleld,
    and a brother, Millard F. Allen of
    Stafford. He went from Oakfleld
    three years ago to Waterloo, where
    he was connected with an engine
    company.
    Mr. Allen Was a member of the
    Mlddlebury Baptist church and of the
    Batavla Lodge and Eureka Encampment
    of Batavia. I.O.O.F.

    OAKFIKMI, June 17.-Seneca Allen,
    one of the oldest and best known residents
    of this town, died at 10 a. m. to-
    day, afters an illness of less than two
    days, at his home on the Batavia-Oaklicld
    townline road.
    Mr. Allen was bom on September 26,
    1821, in Batavia, but for sixty years he
    had lived on the farm where he died. On
    March 2H, 1844, he was married to Miss
    Marie Showerman, who died a year ago
    last October. He is survived by two
    sons and a daughter, Millard Allen of
    Batavia and Walter Allen and Miss
    Retta Allen, who live at home; two
    brothers, William Allen of Batavia and
    Walter Allen of Michigan, and five
    grandchildren. -
    .The funeral will be held from-the
    house at 2 o'clock on Monday afternoon
