Charles J. Keith, of the Town of Wheatfield, passed from this earthly life on Tuesday November 17, 2015 at his home with his loving family at his side while under care of Niagara Hospice. He was born in Altoona, PA, on May 10, 1920, a son of the late Charles Alvin & Mary Ellen (Bowery) Keith. Following his graduation he entered the United States Navy and served with the Seabees during World War II and was honorably discharged in August of 1946. Mr. Keith was employed and retired as a machinist with the Union Carbide Company. He also enjoyed helping to operate his late wife, Edith’s Ceramics business out of their home for 23 years until it’s closing in 1998. He was a longtime active member of the First United Methodist Church. Both he and his late wife, Edith, were avid bowlers and bowled on many individual and mixed couples leagues at both Beverly Lanes and the Rapids Bowling Alley. Golfing was also a passion he enjoyed both by playing and watching it on TV. He was a longtime member of the American Legion Wheatfield Post # 1451. Survivors include his children: Charles (Wanda) Keith and Randy (Chym) Keith of Florida and Darlene Rosenbaum of Arizonia. siblings: Orlen Keith, Donald Keith, Roxie Dillen, Raymond Keith, Norma Jean Gulla and Carol Ott, 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Charles was predeceased by his wife Edith (Van Scoyoc) Keith in 2001, and siblings: Vivian Mahute, Madeline Dillen and Alvin Keith. Family will be present Sunday 1:00 - 4:00 P.M. in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 8622 Buffalo Ave. Private graveside services with military honors will be held on Monday in Wheatfield Cemetery, Shawnee, NY. Flowers gratefully declined. If desired, contributions may be made in Charles memory to Niagara Hospice, Inc. 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 149094-1231
