    Notes:

Medina NY Daily Register Journal - 5/25/1925

    This community was deeply saddened
on Tuesday, May 19th, when it
    became known that Maud Alvbrd
Voorhees had passed into the life
    tfverlasting at St. Jerome's Hospital
In Batavia. She had been in poor
health for nearly two years, during
which time she had submitted to two
    operations. Her condition had somewhat
    improved and hopes were entertained
    for her recovery. The best
    medical attention possible was given
her but to no avail, and a sudden
change for the worse resulted in her
    death. Her suffering throughout was
borne with that sweet, patient christian
    fortitude which she always displayed.
To know her was to love her
and to at once become her friend.
    AlwayB kind and considerate of
others she won a place in her home
and community which it will be hard
to fill. A devoted wife, mother and
friend has answered the final summons
but her memory is blessed and
the community in which she lived
for so many years has been bettered
by the influence of her life.
Mrs. Voorhees was the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Alvord of the
town of Hartland, where she was
born 1881 and had always resided In
    Niagara and Orleans counties. On
Sept. 30th, 1899 she was married to
Charles Voorhees of the Town or
Hartland, and has resided on Lee
street in the town of Barre for many
    years.
She is survived by her husband,
    two sons, Clayton and Earl Voorhees;
her parents, four sisters and one
brother as follows: Mrs. Chas. Bowman
    of Hartland; Mrs. Clarence Bowman,
    Lockport;" Mrs. Frank Dohring;
    Warrens Corners and Alfred Alvord
    of Hartland.
The funeral which was largely at-,
tended was held from her late home
on Lee street on Friday afternoon at
2:30, the Rev. J. J. Allen of Medina
    officiating. Interment was made in
    the Millville cemetery. The floral
tributes were many and beautiful and
bore silent tribute to the love and
affection in which she was held by
    her many friends and relatives.
