    George A. Amsdill, Jr., age 74 of Lewiston NY, died Monday November 7, 2016 in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston after a lengthy illness.


    George was born October 26, 1942 in Lewiston, the son of the late George A. Sr., and Loraine (Britton) Amsdill and was a 1960 graduate of Lewiston-Porter High School. A Vietnam Veteran, he served in the U.S. Army from March of 1964 to his honorable discharge in March of 1967. George spent 2 years in Japan as a Military Policeman and was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal. He devoted his life to serving the Village of Lewiston from 1967 to 2003 when he retired as Deputy Superintendent of Public Works.


    George was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge # 584 in Lewiston, and a former member of the Ransomville F&AM Lodge # 551. He enjoyed hunting in Alleghany County for many years.


    He is survived by his children, Anne, Harold, George H., Ernie J., Dennis P., and Scott D. Amsdill; his grandchildren, Alexandria, Christopher, and Olivia Amsdill; and a great grandson, Christopher Amsdill, Jr. a niece and nephews, Mark and Julie Zimmerman. He was predeceased by a sister, Joan Zimmerman.


    Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston on Friday from 3 - 7 PM. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 12, at 10:00 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Thomas Mason officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, 5817 Military Rd., Lewiston. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lewiston Volunteer Fire Co. #1 Ambulance Fund, 145 N. 6th St. P.O. Box 748, Lewiston, NY 14092.

    Blanche Elizabeth Bucelata (Morgan), 74 of Las Vegas, NV, passed March 5, 2021 after a lengthy illness. She is dearly missed by her husband of 32 years, Steve Bucelata. She was raised in Ransomville, NY, with her brother, Harold, by parents Rose (McGuire) and Howard Morgan (all predeceased).
    She lived many years in Lewiston, NY, raising her children, working for Ransomville Bus Lines and Frontier Bowling Lanes. She enjoyed playing bingo, video poker, cooking and mostly being with her family.
    She is survived by her children, Anne (Russell) Amsdill-Ferrante and Ernest Amsdill of Las Vegas, Harold and George Amsdill of Niagara Falls; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.
    Blanche wishes to spend eternity with Steve. She will be placed with him at a later date.
    In lieu of flowers, donations to the Las Vegas Valley Humane Society are appreciated.

    He had been a crossing watchman
    for about 10 years and was
    once an operator on the former
    scenic railway, the Great Gorge
    route.
    Born in the Town of Wilson, Mr.
    Amsdill had lived in Lewiston 50
    years and was a member of the
    Woodmen of the World, Camp 43.
    Surviving is his wife. Lida, his
    father, Solomon Amsdill,. Ransomville;
    a daughter, Mrs. .Howard
    Ganantz. and son, George Amsdill,
    both of Lewiston; a sister, Mrs. William
    Woodhouse, Niagara Falls; a
    brother, Frank Amsdill, Sanborn, and

    The funeral will be held from the
    Amsdill residence, 195. First street,

    A lifelong resident of Lewis-
    ton, Mrs. Amsdill operated a
    boat livery at the Lewiston dock
    for 30 years until 1963. She is
    the widow of John Amsdill who
    died in 1953.
    She. is survived by a daughter,
    Mrs. Howard Ganantz, and
    a son, George Amsdill, both of
    Lewiston;.a sister, Mrs. Russell
