    MEDINA — Frank Ander, of Medina, passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Ander was born in Buffalo, NY, on April 6, 1924, the son of the late Joseph and Magdalena (Illenz) Ander.

    He served in the U.S. Army during WWII form 1942-1945. He worked at Bramer Electric in Medina until he retired. Frank was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish and was a communicant at St. Stephen's Church in Middleport and St. Mary's Church in Medina. He was a member of Medina Council #651, Knights of Columbus and a Fourth Degree member of St. Joan of Arc of Orleans Assembly. He was also a member of the U.A.W. Retiree's Auto Travel Club. Frank enjoyed his family, traveling, bowling and going to the casinos.

    Frank was predeceased by his first wife, Geraldine (Maynard) Ander; and his brothers, Joseph (Novina) and John Ander. He is survived by his wife, Alice (Tombari) Ander of Medina; seven sons, Frank J. (Denise) of Montgomery, AL, James R. (Karen) of Middleport, Dennis W. of Lockport, Kenneth P. (Mary Ann) of Medina, Thomas D. (Judy) of Winston-Salem, NC, Joseph D. (Rose) of Galt, CA and John F. (Marion) of Halethorpe, MD; step-children, James (Wendy) Tombari of Medina, Lorraine (Bill) Brege of Cherryville, NC and Daniel (Sue) Tombari of Middleport; brother, George (Charlene) Ander of Lyndonville; sister, Maggie (Dave) Pask of Medina; sister in-law, Norma Ander. Also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

    Friends may call on Thursday from (2-4, 7-9 PM) at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. Rev. Daniel J. Fawls will celebrate his Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 11 AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, St. Mary's Church, Medina. Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Middleport. Military Honors will be accorded at graveside by members of the Lincoln Post #1483 VFW and the Butts-Clark Post #204 American Legion. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Parkinson's Foundation WNY- 5140 Main St., Suite 303-154, Williamsville, NY 14221 or the Richard Knights/Sue Kaderli Memorial Fund, Inc., P.O.     their anniversary early so all

    Joseph Ander, 42, a farmer
    living on the Rook Road, died
    Monday night in the Medina Municipal
    Ambulance as be was being
    taken to Medina Memorial
    Hospital from hit home. Death
    was caused by bronchial pneumonia.
    Surviving are his wife, Mrs.
    Magdeline Ander; four sons, Joseph
    Ander with the Army Air
    Corps, stationed at Kansas City.
    Mo., Frank Ander with the Infantry,
    stationed in California,
    and John and George Ander at
    home; and one daughter, Magdeline
    Ander at home.

    Mrs. Magdalen Ander, 82, formerly
    of Pearl Street, died Thursday
    afternoon in Medina Memorial
    Hospital after a long illness. She had
    been a resident at Orchard Manor
    Nursing Home for the past two
    years.
    Mrs. Ander was born in Arad,
    Austria-Hungary on Nov. 27, 1901 to
    the late Joseph and Magdalen
    (Zimmer) Illenz. She came to the
    United States in 1923 and lived in
    Buffalo until 1941 when she moved to
    the Medina-Lyndonville area.
    She was a member of St. Mary's
    Church, the Catholic Daughters and
    the Senior Citizens of Western
    Orleans.
    Her husband, Joseph Ander died
    in 1944.
    Survivors include four sons and

    one daughter, Joseph (Novina)
    Ander, Frank (Jerry) Ander, both of
    Middleport, John (Norma) Ander of
    Biloxi, Miss., George (Charlene)
    Ander of Lyndonville, and Mrs.
    David (Magdalen) Pask of Millville;
    20 grandchildren; 17 greatgrandchildren;
    one brother, Joseph
    (Pearl) Illenz of Getzville, and
    several nieces and nephews.
    Friends may call today (2-4, 7-9)
    at the Barnes-Tuttle Inc. Funeral
    Home, 226 Pearl St. where a prayer
    service will be held Saturday at 9:30
    a.m. followed by a mass of Christian
    burial at St. Mary's Church. Burial
    will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
    The rosary will be recited tonight
    at 7 p.m.
    Memorial gifts may be made to
    the charity of one's choice.

    in Medina Memorial Hospital.

    Mrs. Maynard was born on
    Nov. 16, 1879, the daughter of
    Louisa Southwick and Andrew
    Bowers. Her husband, William,
    died recently. A son, Eugene W

    Rd. and Medina Methodist
    Churches.
