TOWN OF WHEATFIELD — LeRoy E. Stenzel, age 87, of the Town of Wheatfield, unexpectedly, on February 17, 2012 in DeGraff Memorial Hospital. Mr. Stenzel was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church, where he had served as an Elder and the Sunday School Superintendent. He had retired from Buffalo Pumps after 35 years of service.

He was the husband of the late Claribel Stenzel, who died in 1997. Beloved father of Duane (Karen) Stenzel of Florida, Richard (Debra) Stenzel of North Tonawanda and Judith (Robert) Sommers of Wheatfield. Grandfather of Natalie (Ethan) Eldridge, Kristine (Kenneth) Perez, Sharon Stenzel, Jessica Stenzel, Jonathan Peter, and Jennifer Sommers. Great-grandfather of Autumn Perez and Matthew Eldridge. Brother of Mike (June) Stenzel of Niagara Falls. Uncle of several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home, Inc., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd., North Tonawanda on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:30 AM from St. John Lutheran Church. The Rev. Ronald Oravec will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church.
