    Notes:

    Dann Townsend, 78, of Appleton, passed away Feb. 28, 2021, after a long illness.
    He was born Feb. 13, 1943, the son of the late Robert and Norma Cochran Townsend. 
    After graduating from Newfane Central School, Dan enlisted in the Navy, where he served from 1961 to 1964, stationed at Patuxant, Maryland.
    He retired from Delphi in 2002. He enjoyed working on old cars and participating in car shows, being a member of the Harrison Car Club and Niagara Cruisers. He enjoyed his grandchildren, and crafted little vehicles for them to ride around in on the farm. In later years, he crafted tiny lawn ornament airplanes, whose propellers twirled in the wind. He loved football and Nascar.
    He is survived by his wife, Avis, a son, Jeffrey, and a daughter, Kimberly (Justin) Walker, both of California, two step children, Amy (Kevin) Pedley of Lockport and Ronald (Wende) Swift of Burt. He is also survived by his sister, Shelly Stranges of Lockport, and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  He is also survived by a loving friend, Linette Pipiles. He was predeceased by his brother, Larry. 
    There will be no visitation. Private services will be held for family and friends. 
    Donations may be made to Niagara Hospice.

    Robert F. Townsend, of Newfane, NY, husband of the late Norma Cochran Townsend, entered into rest Thursday, March 19, 2009 in Odd Fellow and Rebekah Health Care Facility. He was born in Lockport, Niagara County, NY, September 8, 1922, the son of the late Grant and Frances Kraatz Townsend. His wife, Norma, died September 24, 1987. Robert had lived in the Olcott-Newfane area most of his life. He enjoyed working on cars and collecting coins. Father of Dann (Avis) Townsend of Appleton, NY, Shelly Stranges of Lockport, Niagara County, NY and the late Larry D. Townsend. Brother of the late Genevieve Swift, Alice King, Harry and Charles Townsend. Also survived by six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the RUTLAND-CORWIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2670 Main St., Newfane, NY, FRIDAY (today) from 4-8 PM, where funeral services will be held SATURDAY at 11:00 AM.     Mrs. Townsend Dies At Age 68 Mrs. Grant (Frances S.) Townsend, 68, of 4136 Lake Ave., a retired Harrison worker, died Wednesday (March 23,1 1966) at Inter - Community Memorial Hospital at Newfane. Born in the Town of Cambria on Oct. 26, 1897, she was the daughter of Albert and Minnie Dohring Kraatz. Mrs. Townsend was employed for many years in assembly work at the Harrison Radiator Division. General Motors Corp. and retired several years ago. Surviving are her husband; two daughters and two sons, Mrs. Robert T. Swift of Newfane, Mrs. Clarence C. King; Robert F. and Charles H. Townsend, all of Lockport; one brother and two sisters, Fred Kraatz and Mrs. Percy B. Smith, both of Lockport and Mrs. Paul Everett of Buffalo; also 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Beginning this evening. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Gordon R. Bender, pastor of the Assembly of God Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Wrights Corners Cemetery.

    Lockport. Oct. 12.—Charles Townsend,
    aged 71 years, of Wright's Corners,
    died at the City Hospital today
    after a lingering Illness. Mr. Townsend
    was born In Niagara county and had
    lived In the county all his life. He Is
    survived by his wife, two children and
    a sister. Funeral will be held on Tuesday
    at 2:30 p. m. at the home. Interment
    will be in Wright's Corners cemetery

    LOCKPORT — A l b e r t W.
    Kraatz, 91, a retired Town of
    Cambria farmer, died Sunday
    (March 30, 1958), at the home of
    a son, Fred W. Kraatz, 188 Park
    Ave. He had been ill for about a
    week.
    Mr. Kraatz was born Feb. 16,
    1867, at Wolcottsville, son of Mr.
    and Mrs. Louis Kraatz. He had
    operated a farm at Molyneaux
    Corners all of his adult life. He
    retired 25 years ago when he
    moved here.
    He is survived by three daughters,
    Mrs. Grant Townsend, Mrs.
    Percy Smith, both of Lockport,
    and Mrs. Paul Everett, Buffalo:
    two sons, Fred W. and Edward
    Kraatz, Lockport, and 17 grandchildren
    and 50 great-grandchildren.
    The Rev. Herbert. L. Siegner,
    pastor of the United Church of
    Christ, will conduct services at 11
    a.m. Wednesday at the Taylor and
    Reynolds Funeral Home. Burial
    will be in North Ridge Cemetery.

    The death of Minnie Kraatz, 44, years old, wife of Albert Kraatz, farmer, occurred yesterday at the family home on the Ridge Road near Molyneaus Corners. Her husband and five children. Frances, Alice, Susie, Frederick and Edward Kraatz survive. The funeral will take place Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with burial in North Ridge cemetery.
