    77, of 284 Delaware St will be
    held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at
    the Roth Funeral Home with
    the Rev. Carl Rest officiating.
    Mr. Andres, an Army
    veteran, died Saturday (Jan. 1,
    1971(sic)) in Veterans
    Administration Hospital,
    Buffalo, after a long illness.
    Burial will be in Elmlawn
    Cemetery. .-
    Ha was formerly employed
    at the Remington Rand plant
    for 39 years, retiring in 1959. He
    was the husband of the late
    Lena Kohler, who died in 1963.
    He was a member of Salem
    United Church of Christ;
    Tonawanda Exempt Volunteer
    Firemen's Association; Ken-
    Ton Barracks, World War I
    Veterans; UAM Local 117; a
    50-year memberf of the
    National Hose Co. and of
    Tonawanda Post 264 American
    Legion.
    Mr. Andres was a volunteer
    worker at the Veterans
    Hospital and a charter
    member of the American
    Legion Band.
    He is survived by three sons,
    Lauren H. Andres of North
    Tonawanda; David W. Andres
    of Sardina, N.Y.; and Willard
    O. Andres of this city; two
    sisters, Mrs. Thomas
    (Eleanor) Mileham of this city,
    and Mrs. Nathaniel (Marie)
    Hawthorne of North
    Providence, R.I.,; a brother,
    William N. Andres of this city
    and 11 grandchildren.

    Walter C. Andres, 77, who placed
    American flags on the graves of
    veterans in Tonawanda cemeteries for
    more than 35 years, died Saturday
    after a brief illness.
    An Army veteran of World War I,
    Mr. Andres had been employed at the
    former Remington Rand plant in
    Tonawanda for 37 years until he retired
    in 1959. He resided at 284 Delaware St.
    Mr. Andres compiles more than 2,000
    hours as a volunteer worker at the
    Buffalo Veterans Hospital and
    received a citation for his service.
    He was a member of Salem United
    Church and past president of the
    church council, past superintendent of
    the Sunday school and a member of the
    church choir.
    In addition, he was a member of the
    Tonawanda Exempt Volunteer
    Firemen's Association; American
    Legion Post 264; Ken-Ton Barracks,
    World War I Veterans; a 50-year
    member of National Hose Company,
    and a charter member of the Post 264
    Band.
    Survivors include three sons, two
    sisters, a brother and 11 grandchildren.
    One of his sons, Lauren H. Andres, is a
    composing room employe of the
    Tonawanda NEWS.
    Services will be conducted at 1:30
    p.m. tomorrow at John O. Roth Funeral
    Home, Morgan and William
    Streets, Tonawanda, with the Rev
    Karl H.A. Rest officiating. Burial will
    be in Elmlawn Cemetery.

    ANDRES - Helena J. Andres,
    68, of 171 William St, Tonawan-
    da* died unexpectedly Wednes-
    day (Dec. 25, 1963) in her home.
    A native of Tonawanda, she was -
    a member of Salem United
    Church of Christ, its Women's
    Guild, Mission Society and Home
    Department. She was a visitor
    of the church. She also was a
    member of the Post 264, Ameri-
    can Legion, Auxiliary. Survivors
    include her husband, Walter C.
    three sons, Lauren H.

    of North Tonawanda, David W.
    of Park Forest, Ill., and Willard
    O. Andrei of Tonawanda; a sis-
    ter, Mrs. Mildred Hanel of North
    Tonawanda, and 10 grandchil-

    He was born in Germany and had lived

    Surviving are five sons. Charles,
    North Tonawanda. Robert, Los Angeles;
    William, Otto and Walter Tonawanda;
    Three daughters, Mrs. Milehan and Mrs.
    Fred Globe, North Tonawanda. and
    Mrs. Nathan Hawthorne. Providence.

    Mrs. Marie Andres, 57 years old,
    wife of William Andres of No. 18 Nowak
    street, Tonawanda. died at her
    home this morning after a lingering
    illness. She was born in Germany and
    had lived here 29 years. Besides her
    husband, three daughters, Mrs. Fred
    Globe; and the Misses Eleanor and
    Marie Andres of Tonawanda; five sons,
    Charles, WiHiam, Otto and Walter Andres
    of T.onawanda and Robert Andres
    of Chicago; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie
    Zuhr of Tonawacila. Mrs. Charles
    Windolph of South Dakota and Mrs.
    Johannah Greenburg of Germany, and
    five brothers, all of Germany, survive.
    Mrs. Andres was a member of Esther
    Lodge, Knights and Ladies of Honor,
    snd the Ladles Aid Society of the
    Salem church. The funeral will held
    from the family home at 1:30 o'clock
    on Sunday afternoon and a half hour
    later from the Salem's church on Morgan
    street, the Rev. Andrew Hils of
    ficiating. Rurial will be made in Sa
    lem cemetery..
