    G. Andrews. 53. of 914
    23rd St. Santa, Monica.
    California, a native of
    Boonville. died at his home
    in Santa Monica on Tuesday.
    December 4, 1990 after a
    long illness.
    He was born in Boonville
    on July 10. 1937. a
    son of Homer and Dorothy
    Capron Andrews. He grew
    up in Boonville, and gradu-
    ated
    from Boonville High
    School in the class of 1955.
    After that he attended
    Albany State Teachers
    College, and earned his B.A.
    Degree in 1959, and his
    Masters Degree in 1960.
    He then moved to Santa
    Monica, California, where
    be has since lived. For many
    years Mr. Andrews taught
    social studies at the Los
    Angeles High School, before
    becoming Guidance Counselor.
    For the past two years
    Mr. Andrews was the
    assistant principal at the
    High School, until becoming
    disabled in October 1996 due
    to his illness.
    He was a member of the
    Boonville United Methodist
    Church.
    Surviving are his parents,
    Mr. and Mrs. Homer
    Andrews of Boonville.

    Funeral Services were
    held on Monday, December
    10. 1990 at 11 AM at the
    Trainor Funeral Home.
    Boonville where Rev. E.
    Thomas Moreland, Pastor of
    the Boonville United Methodist
    Church, and Rev.

    Donald H. Karlen, a class
    mate, and long time friend of
    Edward officiated. Interment
    will be in Boonville
    Cemetery. Memorial Contributions
    may be made to the
    American Cancer Society

    BOONVILLE - Homer C.
    Andrews, 90, a longtime
    resident of Erwin Street
    and husband of Dorothy,
    passed away on Monday,
    January 26, 2004 at Sun-
    set Nursing and Rehabil-
    itation Center in Boon-
    ville, where he had been a
    resident since 2003.
    Homer was born in the
    Echo Lake section of the
    Town of Boonville on
    December 12, 1913, a son
    of Albert and Delia Briggs
    Andrews. He grew up on
    the Andrews' Homestead
    farm near Echo Lake and
    attended rural schools. He
    was employed by General
    Cable Co. of Rome during
    WWII. After that he was
    employed at Garlock
    Lumber Co. in Boonville,
    where he constructed
    many windows and doors.
    For a time he was also
    employed at Comstock
    Lumber co. in Rome. In
    May of 1980 he retired
    after 14 years of employ-
    ment in the fine finishing
    department at Boonville
    Division of Ethan Allen
    Furniture Co. For many
    years Homer was also em-
    ployed as a carpenter in
    building repair in the
    Boonville area.
    He was united in mar-
    riage with Dorothy Ca-
    pron on February 10,
    1937 in Remsen.
    Mr. Andrews was a
    member of the Boonville
    United Methodist Church,
    an over 50 year member
    of Boonville Oriel Mason-
    ic Lodge F&AM, a former
    member of the Young at
    Heart Senior Citizens of
    Boonville. He was a 25-
    yeaar member, and had
    been a lieutenant of the
    Boonville Fire Company
    in 1977 he became an
    honorary member of the
    department.
    For many years he great-
    ly enjoyed the hobby of
    woodworking and he had
    constructed many pieces
    of fine wooden furniture.
    He is survived by his
    wife, Dorothy; a son,
    Edward G. Andrews
    passed away on Decem-
    ber 4, 1990. He is also sur-
    vived by two sisters, Mrs.
    Pearl Johnson, Locust
    Grove, VA., and Brooks-
    ville, Fl, and Mrs. Erma
    Grower, Boonville, one
    brother, Raymond An-
    drews, North Western; and
    by many nieces and
    nephews. He was prede-
    ceased by brothers
    Howard in 1978, James
    Orin in 1988, Frederick in
    1992, R. Ernest in 1992,
    and Charles in 2001, and
    by sisters, Ida Forte in
    1982 and Mildred Duda in
    1992.
    Homer's family wishes
    to express their sincere
    thanks and appreciation
    to the doctors and staff at
    Sunset Nursing and
    Rehavilitation Center
    and to all of the kind peo-
    ple that have assisted
    Homer and Dorothy at
    their residence.
    His funeral service was
    held on Thursday, Janu-
    ary 29, at 2:30 p.m. at the
    Trainor Funeral Home,
    Inc., 143 Schuyler Street,
    Boonville, where the Rev-
    erend William A. Mudge,
    pastor of the Boonville
    United Methodist Church,
    and The Reverent Fr.
    Donald H. Karlen, who
    was considered to be a
    second son by Homer and
    Dorothy, and pastor of St.
    Joseph's Church in Boon-
    ville, officiated. A spring
    interment will be in Boon-
    ville Cemetery. Calling
    hours were Wednesday 2 to
    4 and 7-9 p.m. at the fu-
    neral. Members of Boon-
    ville-Uriel Masonic Lodge
    #165 F&AM met in a
    group on Wednesday at 7
    p.m. at the funeral home
    for a service.
    Memorial contributions
    may be made to the Boon-
    ville Fire Company Ambu-
    lance Fund, PO Box 164,
    Boonville, NY 13309 or to
    the Building Fund of
    Boonville United Method-
    ist Church.

    Andrews, 62, wife of Albert C.
    Andrews, died Sept. 2, 1947, in
    her home in Boonville RD. She
    had been in ill health for five
    years and seriously ill for two
    weeks.
    She was born June 12, 1885, in
    Boonville, a daughter of Benjamin
    S. and Fannie Bates Briggs. She
    was married to Albert C. Andrews
    on June 12, 1905. Following their
    marriage, they settled down on
    the Andrews homestead farm,
    where they had lived for 42 years.
    She had been a member of the
    Boonville Methodist Church for
    many years.
    Surviving are her husband; four
    daughters, mrs. Clark Johnson,
    Utica; Mrs. Chester Forte, Boon-
    ville; and Miss Mildred S.
    Andrews, at home; seven sons,
    Homer c., Frederick E., Howard
    A., James Orin, R. Ernest, Ray-
    mond G. all of Boonville, and
    Charles I, Lee Center, 16 grand-
    children; two sisters, Mrs. Erwin
    L. Johnson, Rome, and Mrs. L.
    Gould Denslow, Utica; two broth-
    ers, Charles Briggs, Boonville, and
    Irving Briggs, Rome.
    The ufneral will be held pri-
    vately at 1:30 p.m. Friday from
    the home. Burial will be in Boon-
    ville Cemetery.

    passed. away, Tuesday evening at his
    son's home on Potato Hill. town of
    Boonville followtng a short illness,
    He was 77 years of age. He is sur-
    rived by his son, Albert Andrews, with
    whom he made his home, and three
    sisters. Mrs. Aftha Williams of Utica.
    Mrs. Catherine Clark of Frankfort a n d
    Mrs Alice Weird of Clinton. also ten grandchildren.
    The funeral will be held Friday af-
    ternoon in charge of Undertaker Floyd
    Draper of this village.

    Briggs, aged 80, passed away Friday
    afternoon at his home on the
    Hnwklnavllle road. Although Mr.
    Briggs had been In falling health
    for some time, the end came very
    suddenly.
    Mr. Briggs was born In Boonville
    Sept 22,1849. the son of Solomon
    and Olive Meeker Briggs. He married
    Fannie Bates of Clayville. who
    passed away several years ago.
    Mr. Briggs was well known In
    this vicinity, having lived In Boonville
    practically all his life.
    Surviving are three daughters,
    Mrs. Albert C. Andrews, Boonville;
    Mrs. L. G. Den slow. Alder
    Creek, and Mrs. Erwin L. Johnson
    of Rome, and two sons, Charles
    and Irving L. Briggs, Port Leyden;
    also one sister, Mrs. William
    Locker, Port Leyden.

    Monday evening, July 28, at 8 o'
    clock at the home of Rev. G. H. H.
    Davis, occurred the marriage of Miss
    Flora Dell Briggs, daughter of Mr.
    and Mrs. Benjamin Briggs of Boon-
    ville and Erwin Lymon Johnson, son
    of Mr. and Mrs. gilbert Johnson of
    Port Leyden. they were attended by
    Mr. and Mrs. Chris E Backman, the
    ??
    The bride looked very charming in a
    white georgette crepe dress and wore
    a white picture hat and carried a bou-
    quet of white roses and maiden hair
    ferns. the bridesmaid wore a hand-
    some dress of pink crepe georgette
    crepe with a large picture hat and al-
    so carried a bouquet of pink and white
    roses. The parlor was beautifully
    decorated with ferns and roses. After
    congratulations a reception was held
    at the home of the groom's parents;
    served by Mrs. Fred Mahaney of Port
    Layden and Mrs. Amos Martin of
    Chatuaugay, the latter being a sister
    of the groom. the presents were
    many and beautiful including ??
    and useful gifts. the bride's gift to
    the maid was a gold brooch set with
    gems. The groom's gift to the best
    man was a gold pocket knife. Amid
    a shower of rice and confetti the hap-
    py couple left for a short wedding
    trip.
