    Mary's Hospital today (March
    12, 1962) after a short illness.
    A native of Wilkes-Barre
    Pa. he came to this city 50
    years ago. Before his retirement
    he was a machinist with
    Bell Aircraft Corp. He was a
    member of Niagara Frontier
    Lodge 132 F&AM.
    Survivors are his widow,
    Margaret; three sons, Raymond
    Hager of this city, Rob-
    ert J. Hager of Rochester and
    Kenneth O. Gifford of Lewiston;
    two brothers, Thomas W.
    Hager, of this city and Leroy
    Hager, Tuscon, Ariz.
    He is also survived by eight
    grandchildren and five great
    grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be at
    the Lane Funeral Home, Wednesday
    at 2 p.m. with Rev.
    Fred House officiating.
    Burial will be in Memorial
    Park Cemetery.

    Mrs. Margaret N. Hager, 86,
    of 9226 Cayuga Drive, died
    Tuesday (July 7, 1970) at De-
    Veaux Manor Nursing Home
    following a long illness.
    She was a native of Grand
    Island and had lived in Niagara
    Falls for the past 70 years.
    Survivors include three sons,
    Kenneth O. Gifford of Lewiston;
    Raymond D. Hager Sr. of Niagara
    Falls, and Robert J.
    Hager of Rochester; a sister,
    Mrs. Irene Rice of Tucson,
    Ariz., seven grandchildren and
    17 great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held
    at the Lane Funeral Home Friday
    at 11 a.m. The Rev. Fred
    House of First-Methodist Church
    will officiate. Burial will be
    at Memorial Park Cemetery.
    Friends may call at the funeral
    home today from 7 to 9
    p.m. and Thursday from 2 to
    4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

    Frank H. Taylor, 87, formerly
    of 712 Linwood Ave.,
    died Sunday (March 27. 1960)
    at Memorial Hospital after a
    short illness.
    A native of Tawas, Mich.,
    he had lived in this city for
    many years before moving
    to Lewiston to reside with a
    daughter. Mrs. Eric F. Tiegerman,
    41 Kenwood Dr.
    He was employed at the
    Carborundum Co. for 40 years
    before his retirement in 1948.
    He was superintendent of the
    wheel department.
    Mr. Taylor was a vestryman
    for several years at
    Epiphany Episcopal Church
    and was a former treasurer.
    His wife, Mary Anna Taylor
    died in 1958.
    Surviving b e s i d e s Mrs.
    Tiegerman, are a daughter,
    Mrs. Kenneth O. Gifford,
    Lewiston; a son, George E.
    Taylor, this city; a sister,
    Ella Taylor, Detroit, 'Mich;
    a brother, Charles O. Taylor,
    Land-O-Lakes, Wisc.; seven
    grandchildren and nine great
    grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be
    held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at
    the Cobler's Funeral Home
    with the Rev. John E. Wick-
    enden, officiating. Burial will
    be in Oakwood Cemetery.

    Mrs. Mary A. Taylor. 75, of 41
    Kenwood Dr., Lewiston, died today
    (April 19, 1958) at Memorial
    Hospital after a long illness.
    Mrs. Taylor was born in this
    city and lived here all her life
    until last fall when she moved
    to Lewiston.
    Her husband, Frank H. Taylor,
    who survives, is a retired superintendent
    of the Carborundum
    Co.
    Also surviving are two daughters,
    Mrs. Kenneth O. Gifford arid
    Mrs. Eric Tiegcrman, of Lewiston;
    one son, George E, Taylor,
    this city; a sister, Mrs. Charlotte
    A. Walters, Lakeworth, Fla.; a
    brother, Peter J. Russ, Detroit,
    Mich.; seven grandchildren and
    nine great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held
    at the Cobler's Funeral Home at
    1:30 p.m. Tuesday and at Trinity
    Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. The
    Rev. Paul J. Hartenberger will
    officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood
    Cemetery.

    The marriage of Mr. Frank Hoyt
    Taylor and Miss Mary Anna Russ
    took place .Wednesday evening, Sept.
    28. at 6:30 o'clock at the home of the
    bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John
    Russ of Llnwood Avenue.
    The wedding ceremony was very
    pretty, the tying of the nuptial knot
    being witnessed by the two families
    and a few of the close friends of the
    bride and groom. The ceremdny was
    performed by the Rev. J. Eberlein.
    The bride was attired In white poi de
    sole with all over lace. She carried
    bride's roses. Her bridesmaid, Miss
    Anna Mellcntlen, was attired in white
    voile over taffeta and carried white
    asters. The wedding march wasc played
    by Miss Wahl, a cousin of the
    bride. The best man was Peter Russ,
    a brother of the bride.
    Following the ceremony a wedding
    reception was held an,d a supper served,
    covers being laid for 24. Both the
    bride and groom are well known young
    people, the latter being assistant superintendent
    at . the Carborundum
    works. They received many handsome
    wedding gifts. They will make
    their future home In Echota.

    J o h n Russ, one of the city's most
    h i g h l y respected citizens, died this
    m o r n i n g a t t h e family home, No. 1601
    Whirlpool street, at the ago of 85
    y e a r s . He is survived by his wife,
    Mrs. Barbara Russ, and three sons.
    J o h n J. of LaSalle, William F. and
    P e t e r J., of t h i s city, and two d a u g h -
    t e r s , Mrs. F. H. Taylor of this city
    a n d Mrs. George Taylor of Chicago.
    He also leaves a sister, Mrs. Vitus
    Laur. of t h i s city. Funeral Monday
    a f t e r n o o n at 1.30 from the home and
    a t 2 o'clock from Trinity Lutheran
    church, South avenue, burial to be in
    Oakwood cemtery. Rev. Paul T.
    Gutknecht officiating.
    Mr. Russ was one of the pioneers
    of N i a g a r a Falls. He was born in
    W u r t e n b u r g , Germany, and came to
    N i a g a r a in 1866 where he has since
    made his home. He was in the emp
    l o y of the New York Central for
    m a n y years and was retired twelve
    y e a r s apo on a pension in recognition
    of his w o r t h as a mechanic. He celeb
    r a t e d his golden wedding annivers
    a r y J u n e 27 last. He was one of the
    o r g a n i z e r s of Trinity Lutheran
    c h u r c h . He had lived for 39 y e a r s in
    t h e house in which he ..passed away.
    He leaves t h i r t e e n g r a n d c h i l d r e n and
    two g r e a t - g r a n d c h i l d r e n.

    Mrs. Barbara Russ, 74 years old,
    widow of John Russ, died at 7
    o'clock this morning at the family
    home. No. 1601 Whirlpool street.
    She had been ill a year. Mrs. Russ
    was born In Wurtemburg, Germany,
    and came to this country, settling in
    this city 53 years ago. Practically
    all of .her residence in this city was
    spent in, the neighborhood In which
    she lived at the time of her death.
    She held the confidence and esteem
    of- a wide circle of friends and was
    beloved for her many admirable
    qualities.
    For many years a member of the
    Trinity Lutheran church, Cleveland
    avenue, Mrs. Russ wa.s active In the
    Interests and affairs of that congregation.
    She is survived by three
    sons, Johns Russ of La Salle, former
    La Salle village president, and William
    and Peter Russ, both of this
    city; two daughters, Mrs. Frank
    Taylor and Mrs. Charlotte Taylor
    of Niagara Fails, a brother In St.
    Paul, Minn., and a sister In Germany.
    The funeral will be held on Sunday
    afternoon at 2 o'clock from the
    home and. a t 2:30 o'clock from the
    Trinity Lutheran church, the Rev.
    M. C. Kertzman officiating. Burial
    will be in the family plot in Oakwood
    cemetery.

    Mr. and Mrs. John Russ of. No. 1601
    Whirlpool street celebrated- their
    golden wedding anniversary at a
    dinner party at the home of their
    daughter, Mrs. Frank Taylor of No.
    714 Linwood avenue. on Tuesday
    evening. The color scheme of the
    decorations was gold and white, carried
    out with quantities of yellow
    and white roses. Mr. a nd Mrs. Russ
    were presented with a purse of gold.
    The guests consisted of the immediate
    family, three sons and two daughters
    and their families. Mr. John Russ
    of. La Salle, Mr. Peter Russ of Linwood
    avenue and Mr. William Russ
    pt; Spring street. Mrs. Frank Taylor
    of Linwood avenue and Mrs. George
    Taylor of Chicago were -the sons and
    daughters present at the dinner
    party. Mr. and Mrs. Russ were
    born in Wurtemburg, Germany, and
    came to this country at different
    times during their early youth. They
    were married at the German Lutheran
    church in this city 50 years ago and
    have made their, home here for the
    past 40 years.
