Armenia F. (Ricchio) Laurendi, 100, passed away peacefully at Our Lady Of Peace, Lewiston, NY on June 9, 2018. She was born in Punxsutawney, PA, on July 20, 1917. Armenia was the daughter of the late Michael and Josephine (Buffone) Ricchio.
She retired from Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital in 1983. She was also an Avon representative from 1950 to 2000. Armenia will always be remembered for her wonderful smile. She loved her retirement years to cook for her children and grandchildren and help whenever she could.
She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, John P. Laurendi, on December 13, 2005.
Armenia was the devoted mother of two children, Gail (Hon. Robert) Merino of Niagara Falls, NY, and Carmen (Maria) Laurendi of Grand Island, NY. She was the loving grandmother of her ten grandchildren, Rocco (Andrea) Merino of Niagara Falls, NY, David Merino, and Lana (Dan) Muoio, Kristina Laurendi Havens of Woodstock, GA., Jaclyn (Carl) Wrobel of Raleigh, NC, John, Carmen (Danielle), Jessica Laurendi, Vienna (Dale) Haak all of Grand Island, NY, and Cindy Laurendi of Fort Walton Beach, FL.
Armenia enjoyed and always felt blessed to visit and play with her 14 great-grandchildren that she truly adored, Lindsay (Stosh) Kajfasz, Ashley, Robert and Andrew Merino of Niagara Falls, NY, Nick, Vinny and Mia Merino, Jackson and Mackenzie Muoio, Jack and Arianna Havens all of Woodstock, GA, Alicia and Austin Haak, and Joey Laurendi of Grand Island, NY. Armenia's newest great -grandchild, Helena Armenia Laurendi, of Grand Island, NY, was born on June 8, 2018.
Armenia was predeceased by three brothers, Anthony (late Chris) Ricchio, Albert Ricchio, Adolph (Delores) Ricchio of Greenvile, SC; and two sisters, Jessie (late Joseph) Foglia and Elia (late Mario) Zuccari of Bergholtzn, NY. Armenia is also survived by her loving sister-in-law, Joan (late Vincent) Laurendi of Lewiston, NY. Armenia also had a special bond with her niece, Vienna Tousignant Laurendi of Annapolis, MD.
Mom we will always love and miss you.
Our family would like to express our gratitude to the wonderful staff of Our Lady Of Peace, especially the nursing staff and the dedicated personal aides of 1W and 3E. The activity personnel for all the outstanding activities. All of their devoted personal care, dignity and respect for our mother will always be in our hearts.
